TV Show "Deadliest Catch".
Great show cant wait for it to start next week.
I was with a cousin of mine and saw the ship The Northwestern, its kept in Seattle when not in Alaska. Much larger in person than it appears on the show, just goes to show you how big the seas are in Alaska.
Feel free to comment.((Just My Two Cents))
And thats about what its worth.

No shit...I used to remember seeing ads in Field & Stream and Outdoor Life about earning $30k+ a year working fishing boats in AK. Don't know if I'd undertake that adventure now. I was thinking the same things when I'd see some of the swells - that that ship has got be fucking taller than shit.
I was watching it last night and saw one of these kids horseplaying - swinging on the hook and almost lost his ass into the ocean...If I was the captain I would've disciplined the hell out of that little fucker or fired him. I remember reading an article in Reader's Digest about this career too. That is some serious shit man - you better have your shit together every fucking minute if you're going to do that for a living.FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!

Love that show! Haven't had a chance to watch it much lately because of the hockey season, but the show rocks. A buddy of mine that just got back from Iraq wants to do that shit for a living. No way I could do it, but those guys do make some pretty good money.

I met a chick while I was in the Navy....she was the deadliest catch!
The show is cool!! missed the operner last night. Did however watch some of last season yesterday afternoon while the kids were sleeping.
Watching the guys catch air as the ship rode the huge waves, pretty cool stuff. I remember we used to do something like that while I was in the Navy. We used to get up on the flight deck at night when the ship was cooking like 30+ kts. We would fabricate 'parachutes' out of raingear and run into the wind and jump to see who could 'soar' the farthest.A little more volume in the headphones please.

Having actually been in those same waters, when I was stationed on a Coast Guard cutter out of Kodiak, Ak. I can say that those seas are fucking scary as shit sometimes.
That bar (The Elbow Room) in Dutch Harbor was once voted one of the toughest bars in the country by Playboy many years ago. Myself nor any of my shipmates never had any problems in there during our breaks in patrol and those guys really appreciate the CG alot. In some cases on Kodiak though, they thought that we were the enemy against them, until we pulled their asses out of the freezing water.
But overall those crabbers are very friendly, and when we all anchor off St.. Paul island, they always brought us a shitload of fresh crab for our crew.
I love that show, and I like watching the Lobsterman show too since it has crews from my old home area. The lead deckhand (Nate) on one of the boats was on my basketball team back in my younger days.'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

Deadliest Catch rules!
This show is so fucking addicting! Every time I watch it I'm constantly thinking to myself, "man, I'm such a pussy compared to these guys." Seriously, I whine like a little bitch when I have to scrape my windshield in the morning and wait 6 minutes for my heat to be at full blast in the car. I'm not afraid to admit I wouldn't last 2 hours at that gig....that job would eat me alive before the first pot is pulled up!
Discovery just replayed the Best Of Season 2 tonight....awesome stuff..

Big fan of the show, seen every episode, except the brand new one the other night. Totally spaced it. It'll be on again though, have no fear. Today's marathon is great.
Captain Phil is my fav. Argghhh!
