...yeah...I heard that, too...what a shame. I wonder what DID happen to the bar?!
"20 minutes (late to work)? Shit. Last year I woke up three weeks too late.
My advice is to go for the alien abduction story. Look bemused, dishevelled and on the verge of tears as you recount your story of intrusive and degrading medical tests.
Worked for me anyway. I still have colleagues asking me what it is like to fuck a green womanoid with seventeen breasts.

The last time I was in a HR was in Maui, and it was really bad. The service was terrible, the drinks were watered down and the bar smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. There were about six people in the whole place, and there was a cruise ship in town. Maybe the whole organization is having problems.

Cool bar top, though...maybe it'll show up on eBay.

From my understanding, the Hard Rock Restuarants were sold to a new owner or company. The owner/founder sold the chain last year I believe and has little to do with it. That is probably why things have changed.

Appears the one in Austin that opened in 2001 is gone too...

On December 7, 2006, Rank sold the Hard Rock business to the Seminole Tribe of Florida for US$965 million. Included in the deal are 124 Hard Rock Cafes, four Hard Rock Hotels, two Hard Rock Casino Hotels, two Hard Rock Live! concert venues, and stakes in three unbranded hotels. Rank is keeping the Hard Rock Casino in London, but will be changing its name. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is also not part of the deal, as it was sold by Peter Morton to Morgans Hotel Group in May 2006.[3] The final takeover was mired in controversy, as another of the chain's suitors, Power Plant Entertainment, charged that Merrill Lynch sabotaged its acquisition efforts. On January 8, 2007, Rank Group shareholders approved the Seminoles' US$965 million offer. The Tribe expects to have finalized the deal by March 5, 2007

The bar at the HRC in Bayside Miami has the same kind of bar there (assuming it's still open).

The Seminole's own the HRC Hotel and Casino in South Florida, my frequent weekend haunt before moving. (In particular Murphy Law Irish pub). It ended up being quite a showplace, and as for the actual HRC tucked away inside the casino, it was the same quality food atmosphere that I'd had at the other HR's I'd been to (for what that's worth). I have no idea what the tribe's plan for the product is, however I have a feeling that they'll be more cafe's closing in the future, with the focus going to where the gambling is taking place (There's also a HRC casino outside of Tampa).

I was in South Lake Tahoe just last week, and the Hard Rock at Harvey's at Stateline was thumpin.' On a Tuesday night, packed wall to wall with diners and pubbers. Outdoing business downstairs at Sam's Tahoe Wabo 3 to 1 easy.

Hard Rock success is all about location and cache'. I'm surprised to hear about the one in Lahaina...the last time I was there, it was one of the best ones I'd been to.

They closed the one in Newport Beach. The Beverly Center LA one is never dead no matter what time of day you go in, in my experience. Probably the Hollywood one at Citywalk in Universal City too. And the San Fran one on Pier 39 is always jumpin'.

Vegas, no brainer for the cafe or the hotel. And they're opening up a Hard Rock Hotel in downtown San Diego this summer. I was contacted by their promotions department to solicit my interest in their residential condos for sale, as my name had been on a list for the Vegas Hard Rock residences a while back. Tempting, but...too expensive simply for the 'lifestyle' Hard Rock brand name.

Anybody ever been to the Hard Rock Vegas Hotel's 'Rehab' Sunday pool party? Gawd. I went last year while I was there with my buddy and our women...what a scene. Wall to wall nubile flesh, floating blackjack tables, European topless bathing section, five thousand a day cabanas, roving masseuses, B list celebs...I was too old and past my prime to appreciate it as I might have twelve or fifteen years ago. Being a twenty-something with money these days can really get you into some serious trouble.

I was really surprised at the Lahaina location, too. The last time I was in there it was great, but it's definitely got some problems now. I agree about the one in San Francisco; packed when I was there...same thing in Cabo and Vegas, but it's been at least a year since I've been in those.

We had friends in Vegas that were going to get us into the pool party, but we were too hung over!! From the sound of it, I missed plenty, but I'm not in my 20's anymore, either!!!!

I had a good time at the HR Dallas a few years ago. Spent a couple of hours in there on a Saturday afternoon, they had a hot redhead bartender with a raspy Demi Moore voice. HowYOUdoin'?

Oh well, I guess everything dies sooner or later.

    Good Heavens!!
That picture should be the cover for the next album.
Or better yet, a Penthouse special edition : The Ladies of the Links
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

This next part could really confuse things. Let's stay focused. #asis
