Exclusive to VHLinks, I am offering a worldwide glimpse of the upcoming book:


Roth couldn't believe it was happenning all over again. Why had he insisted on using the lawyers when everything in his heart told him to 'make it real' and let it grow? Why, after all those years of putting those guys out of his mind did he actually let himself believe that the long haired kid with the genious licks would eventually come around? Roth picked up his cell and dialed Michael for some semblance of reality.

"Hey, I know we had words and I know I was an asshole about the whole 'open letter' thing but we gotta believe in ourselves again. What we had was something that I.....I took for granted. No doubt about it man. We can revive this thing and make it happen again! Do you realize how big this could be?!? Fuck MTV, we don't need 'em. We can re-invent the rock video and put it in theatres! What about DVD quality audio and video?!!

Anthony heard the voice on the other end of the line and knew this time, this time, December 1999, was going to be different than before. Michael heard the old David Lee Roth, the hungry David Lee Roth, not the down and out guy who copped a dime bag from a loser in New York City.

"I hear you but do you really think Eddie will come around?" How in the world is Eddie going to let his guard down??

Roth considered the question and swallowed hard. The previous night had left lingering effects on David's conciousness. Why had Eddie bought the dinner when he knew perfectly well that Warner Brothers was there to pick up the tab? Was it a 'pure' move by Eddie or just another power play?

Two days later and David's doubts were dissolved in what can only be called one hell of a re-awakening. It was this day, December 18th, 1999 that the symbolic seal was made which guaranteed at least one new album from Mr. David Lee Roth, Mr. Alex Van Halen, Mr. Michael Anthony, and Mr. Edward Van Halen, collectively known as the rock band, Van Halen. Who cared if it took three separate personal managers, seven entertainment lawyers and Bernie Brillstein to bring it all together?

....there it is everyone, a look at the first chapter of the upcoming book. I would like to thank Art, Scott, Murray and Trina at Hyperion for all of the hard work over the last six months.

Except that book was funny
