Default Me doing "Somebody Get Me A Doctor"

How's it going everybody? I'm sure nobody remembers me...I haven't posted here in years. Kind of got fed up with the waiting game with Van Halen a few years back and moved on to other pastures.

Anyway, here's a little thing I did a few months back. I figured if anybody out there would enjoy it (or maybe just pick it apart for not being 100% note for note), it's you guys. It's me doing everything on it. I'm not an Eddie clone by any means, but I think I got the point across well enough.

Let me know what you think...good or bad.

    Somebody Get Me A Doctor

If you're interested, I used this guitar (Warmoth alder body, maple neck, stainless steel frets, Original Floyd Rose, SD Custom Custom bridge pickup) straight into a Peavey Classic 30 with Celestion G12H30 speaker, mic'd with an SM57. Recorded into a Presonus Firepod using Cubase SX. Phaser, delay, and reverb added using plugins.

That's a thick-ass guitar tone bro, great job.

I personally hate it when guys do covers note-for-note, so it was nice hear your spin on it.

Like the ones in the background of that nice metallic carmel guitar? :-)

Loved the tune and I liked the tone (which is what I listen for in addition to the chops).

    Thanks

Take a bow, that was fantastic and your guitar tone is really warm. Is that a band of yours or a backing track? Either way, really cool tune and great playing.

Thanks for listening and commenting everybody.

Yeah, that's me playing drums, bass, singing, and playing guitar (and doing the wolf calls and handclaps after the solo )

I don't have a mix right now that doesn't have guitar or vocals on it, but if you guys really want one, I suppose it would be easy enough to mute those tracks.

You want the vocals on or off? I can do either or both. Just let me know.

And thanks too for the tone comments. I just love that little Classic 30. I've got a 1984 Marshall JCM 800 2203 1/2 stack that just collects dust because of that little monster!

If you want to hear more stuff I've recorded, I've got a bunch of stuff uploaded at www.thewindtunnel.com/Songs

There's a bunch of originals and covers on there. Almost all of them are just me doing everything, though most have a drum machine instead of me doing my half-assed attempt at drumming.

Thanks again guys, and let me know if you want that backing track with or without vocals.

Good stuff man!! If you could post a backing with vocals/drums/bass and another one with just drums and bass that would be great!!

I also liked alot of the songs on your site, the Aerosmith "Cryin" cover was pretty good. How do you do your vocal harmonies? Do you sing them or use some type of "vocal box" like a digitech harmonist or TC Helicon?
