Hagar era tour set lists

Ok, this has probably been brought up a few times, but there is simply nothing else we haven't talked about already, so I don't care.

What was up with the set lists during Hagar's time as singer? I mean, we all know he didn't like the Roth songs. I'll give him that. I can see how he might feel a little uncomfortable singing them. However, Sammy (and the rest of VH)left out a lot of his songs too! They quit doing Summer Nights, Black and Blue, Good Enough, Judgement Day, and how could they ever forget 5150? 5150 is easily one of Van Halen's greatest songs. How about that intro and solo! Such a great song. I always wanted them to turn that song into a twenty minute long live jam session on tour. The whole band is in top form in that song. Why were the set lists so bad between 1986 and 1996?

because there was a new record to promote...

i remember in 91 they played almost all of FUCK...hell, RHRN proves that. 10 out of 11 tracks from FUCK are on there...

I would have loved for them to drop 'When Its Love' for '5150' or 'Summer Nights'. How can you have a concert during the summer and not play 'Summer Nights'. It's a great song that comes off even better live.

I tend to agree. I remember coming home from every VH concert during the Hagar years and saying, "yeah that was a cool concert, but I just wish they would have played_____________." (fill in the blank with like 5-8 of your favorites that they didn't play)

However, I would always justify the concert as being awesome, because nobody shreds like Eddie, and even though they never played the songs we wanted 2 hear they always seemed 2 be having the time of their lives,wich made it fun for the fans. But damn, I too, could never understand how they could go on tour in the summer and not play summer nights?
