the edited version doesn't even do the catastrophe justice... i caught the VH portion again last night, the edited version, where they have the induction speech intermixed with the live "performances" and it was almost enough to distract from the piss poor VR participation...

Well, the edited version wasn't so bad. It didn't have that uncomfortable feel to it that the LIVE version did.

ditto.....I caught the edited version last night, and for those who didn't see the live show, this version is actually tolerable.

I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

VR should be ashamed. Eddie Vedder did such a great job inducting REM. VH deserved much better, no matter how much they have poisoned their own legacy. They were still, hands down, the best rock band in the world from 1978 to 1996, and few bands consistently produce quality and fly so high for so long. VR could have done a lot better, too. I have heard Scott and Slash speak, and both are quite articulate, Slash surprisingly so. Given that, the tossed-off nature of their remarks was disappointing and shameful.

Yeah, the edit was way easier to stomach. Even WCTBL wasn't as shitty as
I remember it (shudder). And Yeah, VR showed an incredible lack of
imagination and deserved to be cut.

They touched the sound up through remixing and editing, but it sounded a helluva lot better.

Default Why No Reaction From VH

How is it that no one (Mike, Sam who were there) or (Dave, Al who were not) has reacted to the slip shod presentation speech by the members of VR not to mention that God awful butchering of ATBL and Runaround? I get why Edward hasn't weighed in but I would have expected to hear from especially Mike and Sam who at least had the decency to be there and represent VH.

Someone posted earlier with regard to Vedder's presentation of REM and I have to agree that VH definitely got slighted. I actually used to like VR based on their first release but I can promise that I'll never spend a dime on them from here on out. And what really pisses me off is that their pitiful performance (if you can call it a performance) seemed to have less to do with the inability to play material outside of their style and talents than a complete lack of preparation and interest.

Not that I would've wanted to see this either but, there are a number of tribute bands that could've done better. It really makes me wonder who at the RRHOF Edward and the boys pissed off for such a ridiculous display to have taken place. Oh well, that's my rant.

Congrats just the same on VH getting in and best wishes to Edward in rehab.

My hunch is these guys want to put this one behind them. What could they really say without drawing serious attention and drama to it?
    Someday they will, I'm sure.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red
