Default Cold Roses - Official Ryan Adams Thread

God I so much love this guy and his music, and that comes from Glassjaw/As I Lay Dying fan !! It's been only 2-3 months that I've been listening to him and he's definately in my top-10 artists now. I've only got to listen to "29" and "Cold Roses" albums and I'm looking very much forward to getting the rest of his discography. If you're into Southern Rock/Folk type of music - you'd definately like the stuff Ryan puts on his CDs. "Cherry Lane" song is a pure masterpiece, from any standpoint, and honestly I can't think of any music that calls me down better than his. Any fans in the house? I highly recommend to give him a listen guys, http://myspace.com/ryanadams - his myspace for the conveniece.

He's good. I think he's from NC, if I'm not mistaken. I like what little I've heard. Just don't call him Bryan. They say he doesn't care much for that.

Ha even his artice on wiki starts with "Not to be confused with Bryan Adams". Most of the times when I tell people about who my favorite artists are and mention his name people go like "Yeah I like some of his songs, like Summer of 69", thinking I misspell or type too fast.

What's interesting about his songwriting is that his music is up-lifting and sometimes even up-beat but the lyrics on the other hand are mostly sad, and that makes a rather interesting combination.

I highly recommend "Demolition". It's a handful of demos, all of which are superior to most folk's "properly recorded and produced" finished product. (The original release was to be composed of several CD's. Imagine having that much material laying about! The guy is the definition of the word prolific. )

The tune "Cry On Demand" from this collection is quite simply one of the ten best songs of the new century, no bullshit.

I wish he didn't seem so miserable, but there is something about his music that is appealing.

There's an online station that plays nothing but RA....I heard him doing Summer of '69 one night...no shit....couldn't beleive it.

    For those that dig Ryan...

A bit more polished and happier, yet cool.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Tennessee fans wouldn't be much pleased with that album . But great record otherwise

Thanks for listening to me! Btw, Demolition is great.. "Gold" is also very good.. The only RA album I never really got into was "Rock & Roll".. Just didnt do it for me like the other stuff.. But even that album has some pretty good songs on there..
