Default Rant on Bitter VH Fans

First off-I'm 35-seen vh a ton, spent thousand of dollars on them, they are my fave band ever-but i am sick of all of you finger pointers blaming velvet revolver for the vh trainwreck at the hall ceremony...vr has sold just as many albums in their current and former bands [gnr and stp] as vh has, they may be in some form hall of famers someday...but after i read all of the bashing on vr's induction speech and their performances i finally had the time to watch all of it and was confused at all of the outright hatred towards vr when it was VH that didn't even show...vr was asked to do it 10 days beforehand, atleast they did it, and to say they only did it to sell an album like dave said, what a joke, dave has been doing that for 30 f'n years...everyone does everything these days for publicity.
mods-feel free to move this into a 30 page thread, although i'd prefer to atleast see what the reaction is...
vr's performance was ok, they aren't vh, but matt and slash are buds w/sam and have recorded with him...
it's rock n' f'n roll-what do u vh fans that are so upset and pissed at the horrible vr have to say about the fact that dave, al and ed didn't even have the stones to show the hell up...4 days before the ceremony ed conveniently announced he is going to rehab, where has he been the last 5-10 years of dysfunction and breakups and firings and reunions and nonsense and lack of direction
i'm just sick and tired of some of the fans not holding the band responsible for the entire clusterfuck this has become; it's vr's fault, the house band's fault, it's the hall of fame's fault, it's gary's fault-lol
wake up my fellow vh fans, it is the band's fault; dave is still the prick he always was, al is still ed's bitch and sam and mike will always be remembered as the other half that accepted the ultimate award for the band...
    what a joke!
    thanx for letting me vent

Nobody blamed VR for the train wreck. They all blamed vr for sucking during the train wreck (making it worse).

Their speech sucked. If they don't like VH, they should have said no to the offer of playing there.

VR also takes some blame for offering only a couple songs to dave, and denying others, if that is true.

VH not playing is the worst thing that happened.

Until the show, I though VR was a decent band. We're past the fact that VH didn't show. I think we were all shocked that a band with a record label actually did that shitty of a job. I've heard better performances during beginner day at the local guitar store.

I'll go back to my stated opinion - it should have been Gary and maybe Nuno, or at least some of those guys Gary is playing with...no most people haven't heard of them, but it's not like VR is a household name either.

The truth of the matter is Velver Revolver sucked ass and they came off as lazy and not at all deserving to be on that show representing VH.

Had thier award speech been a little more creative and maybe even shown some interest, the horrible job of covers they did could be slightly forgiven, but they appeared to hardly try.

I mean isn't 10 days enough time to learn Runaround, Jesus H. Christ!!!

And this bullshit of the Keyboard not fitting them, wait till you hear thier new disc. What's that I hear Scott? A Hammond B-3 organ on those tunes......Give me a fuckin break!!!! Seems like the Keys suddenly fit overnight for "Libertad"! Complete horseshit!!

Dude, what planet are you from? Look at any other thread here and you'll see plenty of wrath toward VH right now.

I just watched the abhorration that was the Velvet Revolver covers. Let me just say if I was going to be paying tribute to a band who JUST got inducted into the Hall of Fame (say Led Zeppelin) I sure as heck wouldn't prance around the stage only singing (incoherently, I might add) the opening yell from "Immigrant Song." And as a supposed guitar "god," I wouldn't bang out a half-assed version of the main riff either.
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

I am most pissed at the RRHOF for not making the slightest effort to find someone who had respect and admiration for Van Halen to do the induction speech, like they did for REM. The speech VH got was SO BAD, it was an abomination. It was shit. Garbage. Had NO heart, NO passion, NOTHING. "They sold a lot of records." Well, that's just a glowing accolade right there, isn't it? DAMMIT!!! It just pisses me off.

The RRHOF is to blame for how bad this was. Nevermind Ed, Al, and Dave not showing up. If the induction speech had been worthy, and the covers at least half-way decent, it would have been OK. It's the dammed speech that gets me so angry! It was so utterly AWFUL, it's just beyond comprehension. More than VR's fault for doing a shitty job, it's the Hall's fault for not finding a FUCKING FAN OF THE BAND to do it. It's all been said before. Each one of us can make a laundry-list of musicians who could have done a better job.

    FUCK THE RRHOF!!!

Dude, I know you want your thoughts/feelings to be seen, but you need to do it in an existing thread. Unless you have a new perspective to discuss, these types of threads just won't be left open.
