A Challenge to Hagar Fans...
Okay Folks...We all Know Who Diamond Dave and CVH influenced Bands ranging from RATT to Pantera To The Smashing Pumpkins, etc....Bands that Have had a huge impact on The Rock Scene, My Question to you is this....Is there any MAJOR Band that has been Influenced By Sammy Hagar's Solo Work or Van Hagar?

"DLR Band means Dave, Lowery, and Ray. I named it that because it sounds more like a band than David Lee Roth, which just sounds like a person. When you hear David Lee Roth - you think of a person. When you hear DLR Band - you think of a band. Just like when you hear Eddie Van Halen you think of a person, and when you hear Van Halen - you think of David Lee Roth!"

Well no one will ever admit it because they're tired of dickheads like you giving them shit about it.
My band may not be major and I'm certainly no Eddie, but I love all van halen and I was more than influenced by the sammy era. I can play plenty of CVH riffs, but most of the hagar era stuff gives me fits.
Leave Sam alone. He did just fine in Van Halen.now more than ever, the world needs Eddie Van Halen

Van Halen invented an era of music when they first hit. When Sammy joined it was a different scene and the musical landscape was starting to change.

Who says RATT, Pantera or the Punkins didn't listen to VH *in spite* of DLR? Just b/c CVH spawned copy-cats doesn't make Roth their daddy.
And, if you're going to take credit for the good bands, don't forget to mention that Roth was the hero to many more crappy bands like Poison, Firehouse and all the other spandex-wearing homos that had Diamond Dave on their bedroom walls growing up...

None of the bands that were mentioned would say that Van Halen was the ONLY influence they had. So, that's kind of....flawed, I guess.
And if a band today says VH is an influence, unless they actually say "VH with Dave, not VH with Hagar" (I refuse to call the Sam years anything other than Van Halen), how would you assume they were speaking specifically of the DLR years?

Great post fo' sho'!
Bands that were influenced by classic Van Halen: Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, The Hives, Tone Loc, The White Stipes, Beck, Busta Rhymes, Eric Sardinas, Big and Rich, Chilli Peps, Lenny Kravitz, Jet, The Darkness, The Smashing Pumpkins...any band that is under 50 is in a tribute band to the mighty Van Rothin'...
Bands that were influenced by Van Hagar: Loverboy, Creed, Creedance Clearwater Revisited, The Fat Boys, Fat Joe, Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Kenny Chesney, Snow, Hootie and the Blowfish, Poison, Ratt, Def Leppard, and The Presidents Of The U.S.A.ASHES TO ASHES...DUST TO DUST...IF THE WOMEN DON'T GET YA, THE WHISKEY MUST!!...
"I used to play the blues alone in all the local joints," he explained. 'The only thing that I can really play on guitar to this day is the blues. I heard Doc Watson and his son playing 15 years ago, and from there I got into Leadbelly and John Lee Hooker."--DLR
If I had one biscuit, and sam hagar hadn't eaten nothin' in a month, I'd break it in two and eat both pieces.--Loons, celebrating Van Halen with David Lee Roth ONLY !!!

I'm sure this thread will be closed eventually, so before it does, you're an asshole! This is definitely designed to start shit and you know it, take this crap where it belongs, back across the street to the slum where it came from. The real question is, are there any bands that have been influenced by Dave's solo work? Can't name any huh, didn't think so!

I believe he inspired the Waboritas....
Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...
DLR: It was like a stand off in a Chuck Norris movie. We each had the laser dot on everybody's forehead waiting for the other guy to blink. Except for Wolfie, he had a Super Soaker ...
