Sunday I was at Peppers talking to one of the regulars when I asked him if he knew Michael Anthony, etc.

He said that he got his hair cut by his brother Steve Sobolewski at a place called Hair, Etc. on First Avenue in Arcadia.

Since I was in need of a haircut, I dropped on in yesterday, but was told that Steve is off on Mondays.

I ended up getting a haircut with a guy named Frank, so I ended up asking him about Steve and Michael Anthony.

Although he said he didn't get into Van Halen's business with Steve, bottom line, he confirmed what I heard from my Gregg Emerson contact. He said that right now Van Halen is still looking for a singer.

By the way, the "regular" I talked to at Peppers on Sunday night, talked about what we have all heard. That Mikey is a totally down to earth guy, totally non-assuming, and a total family guy.

From Arcadia, that is all for now.

Still looking for a singer?? That I don't believe at all and if Dave wasn't in the band by now, he would not have dropped off the face of the earth the last two years and fired his whole band. Nope don't buy that.

I am just reporting on what I have been told and only time will tell what the real deal is.

I don't know if:

A) You are saying that I am making all of this up.

B) There is a deliberate scheme to mislead the public, and close associates to Van Halen are being fed misinformation.

or,

C) People, including the members of Van Halen, don't know what is going on.

I can assure you that A is not an option.

They ONLY reason I still hold out hope for a reunion with Dave is the fact that Dave has not said a bleeping word. This is the best evidence that something is going on. However I would'nt be at all surprised if anyday now Dave or VanHalen comes out and says. "it did'nt work".
My bet is that they have put a fair amount of energy into this thing and that one way or another we will hear a version of VH/Roth but I don't believe for a moment that it will be anything more than one album one tour. They are never going to get a long. People who don't get along tend to not get along for ever.

Van Halen are doomed to a perpetual hell like JOURNEY and FORIEGNER and 80's BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST and RAINBOW where they change lead singers every album and never really develop a rapport,musically speaking, within the band.
They will only ever do it for themselves...

Believe me POPSTAR, I am with you. I would love nothing more than to have Dave back in Van Halen, even if it is for one more album, tour, single, anything!!

Right now, though, not hearing anything substantial that leads me to believe that that is the case.

I will keep on poking around and asking questions and will report as I hear anything that sounds solid.

Mike's comments during the NAMM, I think, were positive in that Van Halen is recording and has a definate set of plans. The only rumors I think that have any relevance then are those that imply that Dave and the remaining band members are not getting along well. But, Mike's enthusiasm indicates that things are (at least were) going well for the band.

I wouldguess it's a combination of these two. I don't suppose anyone is under a 'gag order' as has been thrown around frequently. But I would guess that things were/are very uncertain so those close to VH aren't giving out info in case it makes it to the press or the net

thats about the worst "rumour" i've heard in a while. and all from a hairstylist. LMFAO!!!!
and how can you compare vh with judas priest, journey etc... No comparison with any of those bands when you think about it.
i think aussie boy has either been in the sun way too long or had a few too many oil cans.

Are you saying that because Michael Anthony's brother is a hairstylist that he is full of it??

Come on EDU, don't take it so hard, people are just sick of rumors period. We know you're not trying to make anything up, but we all just want to hear from the band already.
