    Hey.

Just posting a pic of my new 1998 Black Wolfgang. Awesome guitar. WOW...

Enjoy the pic, while I enjoy playing.

One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

I just changed the strings on my '98 gloss black Standard last night (while watching the Hall of Fame ceremony). It has consistently been a ROCK--reliable and ready to go. Enjoy it!

Without a doubt the Wolfgang guitars are perhaps the most beautiful guitars ever made. I don't own one and never will but I've yet to see one that wasn't beautiful.

    Congrats on your new axe!

    Congrats and happy shreddin'!!!

I gotta tweak with mine soon... I hadn't played it in about 2 years and have been playin' it for a couple of months and have to mess with the intonation... I agree with earlier posts that it is like a rock!!!

    Congrats on your new axe!
I used to think the Wolfgang (and its predecessor the EBMM) were the ugliest guitars ever. I wanted Eddie to go back to his Strat-style Frankie. Then one spring day in '98 I went into my favorite music store--that had just become a Peavey dealer--and my buddy handed me a Wolfgang and said: "You like Van Halen. Try one of these out." The Wolfgang has been my main axe since. (And many here know the crazy story that I now own many, many of them.) NOW I think they're beautiful!

I've played ne less than 35 wolfgangs, and outside of the very first patent pending one I played I hate them! I'm glad that you're happy with your's, I have ne doubt that it's a killer axe, it's I just don't get them.

I kinda agree with that statement... My early quilt top seems to play a bit better than others I have played...

It is an "odd" guitar in its own way. I don't think the Wolfgang introduced anything new (outside of the body shape and D-Tuna) to the guitar-making industry--just borrowed Ed's favorite characteristics of the Les Paul and Strat (mostly). But while some of its "different" characteristics are things I really like (the unfinished neck, offset body design, no body contours, etc.), I can see where those things would completely not fit others.

I currently have 18 Wolfgangs (five custom assembled from parts with lots of modifications). Having owned and played so many, I easily see the differentiation from one to the next. I have six flame top Wolfgang Standards, and all are different from one another slightly in feel and tone. The only major problems I've ever had were fret issues on three of my Wolfs, and all three I bought used off eBay, so there's no telling if it was a factory thing or poor care from a previous owner. My two custom shop Wolfs are top notch all the way. My favorite player, though, is a 2004 dark cherryburst Standard. Some say later Wolfgangs (especially those made in the new Meridian plant) weren't made as well--this guitar proves that theory wrong; it is the perfect combination of wood, hardware, and craftsmanship. The term "a cut above the rest" applies nicely.
