November 9, 2001 -- Rocker David Lee Roth isn't just a gigolo - he's a deadbeat, too, a Manhattan public-relations firm charges.
The firm, Two Guys Who Do Ads, filed suit against the former Van Halen frontman in Manhattan state Supreme Court yesterday, charging he stiffed them to the tune of $110,428.91.

"He's not paying for services he signed off on," said the company's lawyer, Robert Steckman.

Roth hired the firm in 1997, and the company "set up numerous Web sites for him, did T-shirt designs for him and did public-relations work for him" - but the samurai-sword-swinging singer stopped paying his bills last year, Steckman said.

The "Just a Gigolo" and "California Girls" crooner ignored the company's requests to pay up, so they figured they might as well sue, Steckman said.

"He has a penchant for believing if you ignore something, it will go away, but it doesn't. Just look at Van Halen," Steckman said, referring to Roth's decision in the mid-'80s to pursue a solo career.

Roth's company, Diamond Dave Enterprises, didn't return a call for comment.

I don't hate DLR, I just like Sammy and VH with Sammy more. But I don't care for any of Dave's solo work.

And, yet, funny how I own every single Roth solo album, enjoy all of them, and even bought the remasters of the Roth Van Halen period when I owned the originals? Yeah, I sure hate him, don't I? Pshaw, I don't hate him, I just don't have an overinflated opinion of him like some people around here

Now, as for this legal issue, methinks this might be connected to his websites going down a while back, hmm? Seems when I said, "all it means is he got tired of paying the bill every month," I was right.

Or it could mean that this is maybe a pattern of behavior for DLR. What kind of behavior? The kind that say's, "I'm DLR and I'll do what I want when I want to and oh, by the way, I'm worth 50% of the take on a VH reunion album and tour, so like it or go scratch!"

They didn't say much about it, Robin mentioned it in her news at the end of the show, they joked about it for about 1 minute then Howard ended the show. He never said any opinion about it at all.
