Austin vs Klitschko

I would like to note that the Ray Austin got his ass handed to him by klitschko today.

I knew klitschko would win, way more experience which kept austin from taking chances, but I wish it had been longer. Would have liked to see the right hand get used...at least once. Anyways, any thoughts on this fight, or boxing in general?

It was a big mismatch. I left the room for a second and the fight was over! But I heard that Klitschko had to take the fight to keep his belt, it was a mandatory challenge. So I can't blame him for fighting him.

boxing really needs to start limiting the number of champions in each weight class (they may want to reduce the # of weight classes while they're at it). How any sanctioning body can possibly consider Austin a #1 contender for anything is purely insane. Those 2 guys didn't belong in the same ring. Then they wonder why people are flocking to MMA and leaving boxing.

Agreed. It is fun to watch a good ol' ass whoopin', but if I were payin to watch it I'd be pissed, and if I were a boxer I'd be even more pissed. I noticed the ref called the fight at 9, probably to keep austin from getting some brain damage. The mandatories are bogus in my opinion. Give the athletes some even matches, and everyone will be happy.

This is beside the point, but I want to see Klitschko vs. Valuev, just for shits and giggles
