Best per song download site
I wanted some input from you guys on your opinion on music download sites. I am looking for one that doesn't require a subscription but you can buy songs without restrictions. I recently purchased a cd from walmarts download site and realized it has a limit of 10 burns per song. I like to make music compilation discs so it seems like a bummer that I can only get 10 burns from there. I looked into Rhapsody and Yahoo music which allow you to burn songs to cd but you also have to subscribe. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno, if I feel like supporting the artist I buy an album. I use eMule for everything else.

I use itunes a bit too but it is pretty pricey. 0.79p (UK, that's around $1.50 or $1.60) per download. I use it more for my cd collection and synching onto my ipod.
However, I have a monthly subscription to emusic which is very interesting. There are very few major label acts on there, no VH or Britney or whatever. It's all about smaller labels and with my subscription works out as 16p per download.
I'm a big classical and jazz fan and it is perfect for me, especially those rare things that are out of print. I also use it to just try out new stuff. If it doesn't turn out so great, big deal, barely any money wasted but if it does................ Just got into a Uruguayan band called "Abuela Coca" through this site. A wonderful discovery that I would not have made any other way than through sheer blind luck.
If you want to try something new, or like classical (think about it, Beethoven's entire 5th symphony for 64p (just over a $), emusic is your man, but like I said, no majors in the pop/rock field.

I had emusic for about 6 months and loved it. Got caught up on the old stuff I always planned on getting, but never did. Old Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, the first MCR. The selection gets a bit iffy after about 6 months. I haven't had it in a while, so they may have updated their song list.
Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...
