Default VH's induction into the RRHOF should be put off

for two years. The band is just not ready to accept it. In two years Ed may be ready to deal with this the right way. VH should triumphantly take the stage and rock the HOF. No ego's, no BS. The whole thing is just going to be a waste of space at this point.

There will be another time and place for Van Halen to perform collectively and respond to their Hall induction. If it's only Sam and Mike there, I guarantee you they will pay tribute in words to the legacy of Eddie, Alex, and Dave. That will have to suffice for the time being.

The HOF was irrelevant before VH got in, and it still shouldn't be that big of a deal now that they're getting in. Ed getting healthy and maybe playing sometime next year in better shape would be much more of a present.

Exactly. A valid and excusable reason at that.

"Hey this is David Lee Roth and I promised you the news and here's the news.

About a year ago myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing!

In the following several months Edward and I, Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth, created some of the most amazing, phenomenal - the hands fell off the clock ladies and gentleman and we wrote three astonishing tunes.

That was last July (2000) and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music, but I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note - I'm ready to go.

And I am positive for the future ladies and gentleman.

Stay tuned and I'll tell you what the future brings..."

It wasn't a big deal to begin with, man. The Hall is a joke.

Triumphs in other more personal formats are the only things that matter.

Well, it is a big deal to MA and SH. They'll be there.

And it was a big deal to EVH, AVH, and Diamond DLR for them to reserve 2 tables (if the reports are true). But now there are circumstances that are a bigger deal than to attend the ceremony.

Exactly, the hall is a joke for those who are in..and those who are not. Vh not in on the first ballot. WTF.

The performers not allowed to perform? If it were not for the perforers there would be no HOF.

Hey, Ed has finally come out and said "it is within my ability to change and change for the better". Lets all pray that he means it and that he can stay sober for life. It takes balls to say I need help with my problems. God bless him.

There is no reason to put it off, as nothing will be differnet in two years, ten years, or twenty years. Van Halen is a band of dysfunction, and they will always be in some state of drama or denial. Waiting does nothing other than give time for a new act in this rdiculous play to be written.

While I'm glad they are getting the recognition, the RRHOF is Jann Wenner's pet project and personal fiefdom which has lead to people not taking it seriously. It only matters what Wenner wants and is not based on true influence. I say get it over with inducting VH and move on. It's nice they will now be in but it's meaningless next to other pressing issues in the VH family.

There is already suspense, rumors, speculation, public statements released by current/former members about current/former members, and plenty of back-and-forth drama. Doesn't that sound like VH?! And there's still three more full days before the induction ceremony. Even if not one VH inductee shows up for the event, this thing has still been another solid chapter in the VH saga.

I don't care about the fucking Hall or the '07 tour. Ed just needs to get better.

no, don't put it off... those that run the thing may get the idea to not recognize them completely if they postponed it... maybe vh can play at kiss' induction...

It would have been nice that since they were elected to be in the hall of fame they could all perform, but the more positive spin is Ed is getting help and perhaps realizes how much of a bad drunk he's been. Hopefully he will be able to mend fences with Mike. The hall of fame is a sham anyways who cares about the hall of fame.
