links have any influence?
ya'll, was wondering..
with the obvious uproar over some of Ed's / Bands descisions & the occasional insider posting... think anyone of infulence on the band reads here & relays "a fans" reaction ?
This board is obviously full of passionate people....
Thoughts??Sam, Dave,Gary... who cares. its all about what makes you feel good.

i would say no
just my opinion, i have heard eddie comment somewhere in the past before about not surfing the net for fan reactions. with his new girlfried/ publisist i dont really think they care to tell you the truth. its sad look at 96when they went on mtv & built up are hopes. now a photo shoot with roth & an official statement on there website. comments by eddie thats hes excited to get back to the core that made van halen. quote "it was pure magic when we jammed" it is magic for us also (fans) to dream of this after waiting 23 years, only to get kicked in the balls! i love van halen but they are being self centered assholes to there loyal following!

Indeed.
This would probably be the first place for someone directly associated with VH to check if feeling out general fan reaction. And of course there's a lot of folks posting here who know or have known one or more members of VH, whether that association was business or personal. But if anyone checks it out... I dunno. I don't think having information one way or the other really changes anything; I know I'd say the same if it was here or around anyone having anything to do with VH.

I think we have proven that Eddie is full of crap. Therefore when he says that he doesn't pay attention to the internet and what's said, I have no choice but to call bullshit.
To take it a step further...Ed lost it when the internet and fan sites became so popular. He couldn't believe that anyone would be critical of him, and he slowly began to lose it. Why else do you think they closed the Pleasure Dome on the official site.
I'd say our collective influence is pretty obvious, which is not to say I blame any fan for the state of Van Halen. When you are in the public eye, you should be able to take comments, positive or negative, about your band. I'm not sure why Ed is so insecure. He's been given plenty of critical acclaim throughout the years. He's been given his due as a guitarist...what else does he want? The Barn Burned Down, Now I can See the Moon

I hope not, but how could Eddie not take this stuff personally. About his looks, attitude, mental/emotional/psychological state, his talent level, his playing, his songwriting, his health, his love life, his career decisions, labeling him as: a drug junkie, terrible father, terrible husband, terrible brother, terrible human being in general, etc. There's probably more I left out.
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

judging by how regularly the official site posts updates and with the flood of press releases from their p.r. director...
i'm sure teen wolf may have stumbled onto this site, or any other number of sites, but would be surprised if it triggered any dinner conversation... i think the change of heart for the RRHOF ceremony is more of a common sense thing, whether it's alex or whoever telling him that it would be stupid not to be at a ceremony that is paying tribute to your life's work, let alone a body of work that is branded with your name...

I'm sure many of the members have read stuff from here, but what would the point for them to keep coming back? I understand that fans don't HAVE to be 100% in love with every thing they do, but people here are insanely negative all the time. It's like you have to diss Eddie or something to show how much of a fan you are.
It's a rock and roll band. Period. They've made great music for US and owe us nothing else. For us to be pissy about anything they do from now on is stupid because we have a back catalog of amazing music to enjoy. But instead, we show our "love" by complaining, bitching, and talking about stupid shit like Eddie's shoes. And why didn't he give us his first born son?? lol
If I were Eddie, let alone his 16 year old son, I wouldn't want to come to a site and read all the hate. It's one thing to dish out constructive criticism, but that's not what goes on here. Fake interviews, incorrect news reports, and gossip are the only things that keep circulating on this board.
Even if Eddie agreed to reunite all four original members, toured America, toured the world, made a new album, went into rehab, got back with Valerie, and joined the Peace Corp.... I'd have to rummage through 15 pages of Eddie's ugly teeth and lame jokes. Then again...I guess it is good cover for the occassional REAL insiders to post here. lol

I'd be surprised if this site provided any insight that the average person couldn't have figured out for themselves. Most of the negativity stems from the constant state of uncertaintly surrounding the band, the frustrations of little to no ouput over the past decade, and the various personnel moves over the past decade.
All things I think the average guy could figure out for himself.

Does Ed follow fan feedback from this site or any other? Given the band’s, I mean Ed’s, decisions over the last decade or so, I’d have to say that the answer to that question is a resounding NO. Which is a shame really because it would have been fairly easy to satisfy those that buy their wares.
If fan feedback from this site (or from the web in aggregate) isn’t considered by those with an interest in the past/future of VH then those individuals are clueless. How far from reality must one be to ignore the feedback from those that are the major consumers of the product that you produce (and even though Ed’s playing is magic, it’s still a product) and have been instrumental in building the wealth and “brand” that exists today. Only those that are divorced from reality can consciously ignore those that pay the bills. I don’t think, though, that Ed does well with criticism, whether constructive or not. The commercial disappointment of VHIII seemed to hit Ed hard and I can’t imagine that the negative feedback from the 2004 tour (both commercially and from a performance aspect) was well received from the King either.
We all work for a living, imagine what would happen if we had a blockbuster product on our hands (say the ’96 DLR quasi reunion) and at the last minute, said, “to hell with the market, I’m going to produce the product that I want, not the product that the market wants.” Insanity right? Well, that’s basically what’s happened with VH for at least the past decade. The ’96 DLR reunion; VHIII; 2000 DLR reunion; 2004 tour; MA dismissal – all amount Ed disregarding the market that feeds him. And now, they want to stage and comeback and lo and behold, the brand equity the VH spent the last three decades building is severely damaged.
Don’t get me wrong; I love VH and the music they’ve made over the years. But the reality is that Ed and the boys have lived a VERY blessed life thus far. They all have experienced wealth and adulation that many in their business only dream about and sadly won’t ever attain. One need only visit a local restaurant and watch those poor souls slaving in the kitchen or in the dish tank to see how good most have it, especially Ed and the gang.
I guess that reality is relative, and the reality for these guys is so far removed from other laypeople and from the people that they were 35 years ago, that they’ve become convinced of their own omnipotence. If Ed can’t stand the feedback/info from the web it’s probably because he can’t stand to gaze upon his own inadequacies, whether they be real or perceived. That's not to say that all the decisions thy've made have been bad...just that some of those decisions could have been...better.

Could have been better is a bit of an understatement.
With what's going on (or isn't going on) it wouldn't surprise me if they had people checking out reactions to their latest pursuits.
btw - Did I miss something with the HOF? I haven't been here for a while. I must go and check out whattup.RIP - Classic Van Halen

Maybe someone from the band's posse read everything on this board. Maybe Eddie decided he needed to go back to playing his old tone and he needed to play flawlessly. Maybe they canceled the tour because he wasn't ready and he wanted to do it right. Maybe they also canceled because they read how much we want MA back. Maybe they decided to go to the hall of fame ceremony because we complained. Maybe they'll decide to play if we continue to complain.
Then again, maybe they don't and all of these actions are because it's Van Halen and they love to screw the fans.
Hmmmm....which is more likely?CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I don’t know about BAIL though. Correct me if I’m wrong, and I could be, but aren’t they trying to do away with cash bail to be equal? For some odd reason, certain states think that just because...
