Default Why hasn't Ed done an acoustic album?

I don't think many great electric guitar players can transfer over well to the acoustic. Ed Van Halen is one of those players that can. Every time I hear an acoustic piece on a VH record I'm left wishing for more.
That said I think Ed should forget this lame excuse for a tour this summer and do the acoustic project he should have done a long time ago.
Neworld, De Ja Vu, TYWH, Spanish Fly! All beautiful acoustic guitar work. COMMON ED!!! Do a tour with the original band and then start making some great shit!

although he obviously continued to do some acoustic work, i think i've read that eddie is not very fond of playing acoustic in general... i guess only if he feels that the song calls for it...

    WHY NOT?

The following is widely publicised: Ed is sick. Ed is an alcoholic. Ed has abused himself with drugs and alcohol. He is "done outta gas".

    Please. This is simple stuff.

It's not 1984. Baby faced, kick jumping on 'There's only one way to rock' from the video is GONE GONE GONE.

    Get it?

    Get milk?

We can't even get electric guitar anymore.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

How about that tuba album, Ed?
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

he only does about half of his writing in acoustic. probably only has about five albums of that ready to go.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

When I saw the question I had to post this story. Back during the Van Halen 3 tour the local radio station here was giving away 3 chances to interview the band the day of the show. They were also giving away tickets to the show. I had won about 3 pairs of tickets and since you can only win once I used the names of some of my friends and got them tickets. Prior to all these give aways they were also giving away 3rd row seats which I also won. On top of that my mother knew someone at the radio station and got me meet and greet passes. Ok on to the accoustic. In order to win the chance to interview them you had to call in to the radio station and submit your question. If they liked it you were picked. I called in and gave them my question which was for Eddie and would he ever consider doing an accoustic album. Well they liked it and I won. Unfortunately I couldn't give them my real name so I gave them my brother in laws name. He was also a huge VH fan and a damed good guitar player. Well to make a long story short he was able to interview Eddie and Alex and being a guitar player he had all kinds of technical questions for Ed and was able to talk to him for about 10 minutes which was good considering you were only allowed 1 question.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.
