Wouldn't THIS make more sense?!
WHY Velvet Revolver?! If you're going to have a "Tribute" to VH why not hire The Atomic Punks?! I'm POSITIVE they do a better rendition of Van Halen than Velvet Revolver could EVER do. I just can't see Slash and Scott Weiland pulling off EVH and DLR. It's gonna be really bad. The only remaining question is what tunes will they murder?! Sad that a band that has ALL it's members alive and well will not perform together. Especially after Eddie went to Dimebags funeral.

What would make more sense is posting this in an existing thread. However, that's just me.

b/c the atomic punks, although a tribute band, is also a parody of vh... and on top of that, none of the atomic punks' members have a chance of being in the hall themselves down the road, where you could argue that the ex-gunners and scott possibly could, at least especially the ex-gunners...

Yeah, I should've posted this in the VR thread...my bad.
But, my whole point was WHY have a tribute to a band where ALL of it's members have the ability to get up and jam themselves. If you're trying to get the vibe VH created when they were a viabla band then I think the Atomic Punks is the way to go. And I never really saw them(the Punks) as a "parody" as much as a band that really captured the VH sound and energy."The music of Van Halen is vital."-David Lee Roth-1978

What would make sense is Van Halen going on stage and playing their songs. Any other band playing their tunes doesn't make sense to me.

Because, unfortunately, certain members of this band have the mentality of seven-year olds and they're too fucking immature to either acknowledge the fans and the voters who put them into the RRHOF, or put aside past differences to get up on stage one time for about 10 minutes and do what got them there.
And, one member is apparently so fucked up that either the promoters of the announced upcoming tour or somebody close to him pulled the plug on that.SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS
"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls
"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

the hell with'em they're dead
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

If VR does a lousy job, then VH has no one to blame but themselves. They SHOULD have been up there playing.
