It's for the Bar/nightclub restaurant trade show that they have every year. I was invited to go but couldn't get away from work. He might cancel it since his mom passed away though.

I was thinking the RRHoF ceremony on the 12th might even be pushing it for Sam considering the passing of his mom.

Weird Al Yankovic's parents died last year, at the same time, in their home, of carbon monoxide poisoning. He had a show here in the Twin Cities either that same day or the next day, and the show still went on! I couldn't believe it. From what I recall, a couplf of articles said he mentioned it briefly at the show and said something to the effect of, "My parents would want me to still come out and entertain."

i think sammy can still go to the RRHOF, and maybe even give a tip of his hat to his mom... i don't see anything wrong with that... i think it would be more of a question if he was on tap to perform...

Just got back and Sammy played the show. He was having a lot of fun and was in a great mood. Said he decided not to not tour this year after all. He is planning more shows and said after a month of being at the beach he is ready to get back on the road.

no shit, I mean what was he thinking having a kid and stuff. I mean, Ed even knew she was going to pop but he didn't care, and good for him too. Afterall, the music is way more important and it couldn't have possibly waited.

yeah, when Eddie can't get a singer into the studio things tend to back up. Rumor is about 20 CD's worth as of yesterday.

I have a theory about this. I think that Sammy was not going to tour this summer because of the probability of a VH tour. I think that he didn't want to tour at the same time as VH, for fear that his tour numbers would look weak in comparison. But, now that the VH tour is off, he has decided to tour again. No competition. Just a guess on my part.

That's probably part of it. It's just a smart business move. But Sammy likes to tour.

That's quite possible. He also may feel that there are a lot of hanging Van Halen fans out there, who had plans to spend some money on concerts that need another choice.
