what ever happened to the kyboardist of sammy's band? his name was jessie harms or something like that. did sammy fire him or did he quit? i miss the keyboards on right now. i don't like the version when vic johnson plays it on guitar

Jesse says he was "deleted"

According to Sammy, when they added Gibby there was no room on the cantina stage for jesse. And Vic was asked to play some keyboard parts on the guitar.

I am hopeful that with the new stage design ( according to sammy for 08)
there will be room for Jesse too.

I missed Jesse also.

Jesse quit in 2003! He quit because he knew Sammy, Mike and The brothers were getting back togther for a VH reunion. He figured Sam would never return back to the Wabos. Little did he know..... Last I heard was, he put out his own CD (with his version of Both Sides Now) and he is teaching music leson in California. Another interesting fact , not sure how many know this but Jesse played keys with DLR during The Skyscraper tour in 1988!

Actually, Jesse played some keys on the "Eat 'Em And Smile" album (he was brought in by Ted Templeman), but by 1988 Brett Tuggle was the keyboardist in DLR's band and he played on and toured for the Skyscraper album.

I bought Jesse's solo CD from a couple of years ago. His website is: www.jesseharms.com. His last update had him buying a music store in Novato, CA.

It seems there might have been some tension with Jesse leaving Sammy's band, as Jesse once said (with regard to his departure): "I'm keeping it civil (or a word like that) right now." Still, Sam kept the Wabos on salary all throughout the VH thing in '04. I dunno...

To add what I know, which is very little......
When I met David, Vic, Mona, and Sam in 2004 after Jesse had left, both David and Vic IMPLIED that Jesse had done something that caused him to be gone.
Maybe it was just because Sam was getting back with Van Halen and Jesse thought they wouldn't be a band anymore. So he quit. But Sam still had them on payroll.
Dave and Vic both told me Jesse wasn't thinking (without telling me exactly what he did), and that it was a dumb move.
