Geico Commerical Cavemen Score Own ABC Sitcom
Geico Commerical Cavemen Score Own ABC Sitcom
LOS ANGELES (March 2, 2007) -- It's a role so easy, even a caveman can do it.
ABC is developing a sitcom based on the Geico cavemen ads, according to Variety.
"Cavemen" would reportedly follow three pre-historic men who battle prejudice as they try to live like normal thirtysomethings in modern day Atlanta.
Joe Lawson, the advertising copywriter behind the popular Geico ads, will also write the sitcom. Lawson also developed the Geico gecko and the "Tiny House" insurance TV spots.
No word yet on whether the same actors from the commercials will star in the sitcom."Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.” -- Gen. George S. Patton

Oh I love it! Those commercials crack me up.

this is the equivilent of a SNL skit getting a full movie. Although some can sustain the gag for 90+ minutes, most wear thin pretty quickly.

I wonder if they'll use that damned song as the theme music? You know, the one in the commercial where he walks past the sign and does a double-take.
Sounds like it was done on a $50 Casio keyboard. I dig it.

I predicted they would make a sitcom out of those commercials months ago. It might be funny if done right.

YES!!!
Those commercials are classic.
The new one where the one caveman is getting a lecture because he actually bought Geico insurance...it's like a living version of the main VH discussion forum with Brett lecturing long time members about how going to see VHMK-IV without Mike is just selling out."Nothing is ever what it seems but everything is exactly what it is." - B. Banzai

Good luck to the Thunder. They better be ready. The Nuggets have won a championship and are battle tested in these kind of games vs Thunder inexperienced.
