Come on. The band actually playing an event that honors their career and places them among rock's most celebrated acts would be ripping off the fans.

Good Lord. Who's it going to be next week? I like Scott, tho. Should be interesting to hear them do some VH. If it's them on 3/12. They announce someone different every damn week.

I sure hope Mike, Dave and Sammy decide to play something. I know Sam & Dave won't sing together, but SHEESH! Hey, Mike can play with both of them if he wants to. He doesn't need Ed's approval for jack shit anymore. No more eggshells for you, Mikey. YOU ARE FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would prefer VH to do this, but Velvet Revolver would be really cool. I'd love to see their take on some classic Van Halen both in performance and words
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

Rock News: VELVET REVOLVER TO PERFORM FOR & INDUCT VAN HALEN INTO ROCK HALL
Posted on Thursday, March 01 @ 06:38:42 MST Rock News

Velvet Revolver has been tapped for Van Halen's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band will perform in Van Halen's place, and singer Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash will speak on Van Halen's behalf.

For now, it doesn't look like David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar will join Velvet Revolver onstage, and Michael Anthony hasn't commented yet. It's still unknown whether Eddie and Alex Van Halen will attend the ceremony.

Velvet Revolver just finished recording their new album, titled Libertad. It should be out this summer, and the band has South American dates with Aerosmith in April and a possible U.S. tour in May.

Hagar had originally told that he thought the job of inducting Van Halen into the Rock Hall would go to his friend and sometime drummer Chad Smith's group:

"I was told that they were gonna get the Chili Pepp -- trying to get the (Red Hot) Chili Peppers to induct us. And I shouldn't, maybe shouldn't be saying this (chuckles), but... letting the cat out of the bag... I said, 'Chad, I think they're gonna ask you guys to do it.' He's going, 'Great, man!' (laughs)"

Smith regularly joins Hagar onstage at the singer's Cabo Wabo Cantina in Mexico, and Hagar told that he, Smith, and Michael Anthony are thinking about making a record under the name Chicken Foot.

Oh, kewl. 'Cause Scott Weiland and Slash covering Jump is going to be AWESOME.

    Gimme a break.

Personally, I find the first Velvet Revolver CD unlistenable.
I'm sure their VH performance will be unwatchable.

Default VR for Van Halen at ROH

Good band to intro them but is a travesty that VH and the guys can't put something together to play themselves, if this is true.
I know Sammy and Mikey will get up there and play if at all possible. DLR excuse about different music styles for him not getting on stage with Sammy is Bull Sh......T. DLR can't get on stage with another singer because he knows he would look and sound like an idiot in comparision. DLR is just not good enough or confidant enough that he can hold his own.
It is flat bunk about different types/style of music not performing together. It happens all the time.

Only Eddie, Alex and David could F....K up an event like this.

Believe me, Sammy and Mikey will have a great time and look good doing it.

You know the RNRHOF is kicking themselves over this one. They don't just willy-nilly elect people for this thing - you know somewhere months ago it was probably discussed that we'll give VH the award when you guys get back with Dave - Why else have the party????? - to see Velvet Revolver slum through "You Really Got Me'???? No, you can bet your biscuits there was supposed to be a VH reunion at this thing. How anti climatic and totally in line with Ed's crap on the fans attitude to totally blow this thing off.

If he does show, he'll be a drunk mumbling fool saying the same stuff he did on the RS audio, "I'm here..I don't know where the other guys are..they are welcome to come up here anytime"...

Send Wolfie to pick it up. The biggest FU to the loyal fans who have supported this band for all these years.

I could buy these guys showing up at some "Aerosmith" tribute show, yet Van Halen?

Then again Weiland did release that bizarro solo record whereupon he "channeled" David Bowie, (getting the hair and eyeliner correct yet forgetting the "talent" and "listenability" part of the equation ) that ranks right up there with "How Many Say I" in the pantheon of truly notable "What In The Royal Fuck Were They Thinking?" moments in the history of modern recorded music.

    Just say No, folks.

If this is true, what a freakin' joke. I actually like Velvet Revolver but it is absolutely pathetic that VH can't pull it together long enough to perform two songs -- one with each lead singer -- and give a short gracious speech thanking their fans at the RRHOF induction ceremony. This should be a great moment for the band, with them receiving the praise and accolades they deserve for their work from 1978-96. But instead of celebrating the band and its significant positive influence on rock music, this indignity may occur.

I think it's fairly obvious that the biggest reason this situation could occur at the RRHOF induction ceremony and the reason for the band becoming a laughingstock over the past 11 years and somewhat tainting its successful past at the same time is EVH's substance abuse problems. His poor judgment and inability to function like a normal (happy) human being have infected the band and all of its former and current members. I hope the guy can turn it around at some point, but time is running out. I'm sorry to say that I truly don't believe that he will. I desperately hope I'm wrong.

This can't be true. First of all it comes from a radio station website. And second (and more importantly) there is no mention of it on the "official" VH site.
