    Default Mississippi Power

This song is fantastic, it sounds like a mix between "Tell The Truth", "Sunbrun", and "Experience". All great bluesy songs from the great DLR.

But does anyone know the story behind this song? I have a great sounding alblum version of it, but where did it come from and why was it never released?

heres the link to the song if your not sure what Im talking about

Also does anyone know if this was the same recording session that "Ain't that pecular" came from, they sound similar, almost as if for a new alblum.

I agree, this song is really good. I think it showed a side of Dave's voice that would be good for him to explore more.

anyway, "mississippi power" was the B-side to "she's my machine" in 1994. In the UK it was the B-side on the 45 (yeah, they still had 45s in 1994 UK). It was also on the CD single of "She's my machine."

I never could figure out why Dave didn't include this on his BEST OF record. It would've been a nice addition. And certainly a better "new" track for that collection than "Don't piss me off."

"Mississippi Power" is a great tune. I have it on the "She's My Machine" CD single. I'd love to hear Dave do a whole album of tracks like that, his voice suits those bluesy tunes.

I think "Ain't That Peculiar" was from the No Holds BBQ VHS.
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Really? The copy I have (http://www.headline-music.de/11_-_Ai...t_Peculiar.mp3) sounds like its studio version and really great. It sounds like a Billy Joel song almost, ofcourse with quite a dave flare. its an amazing song. Are there any more "No hold BBQ" boots out there? I love the Baker Street and Aint That Peculiar from it, both great and Dave sounds awesome.

My bad, any idea when or what it was recorded for?
