A pic of the Van Halen familiy on the ship that brought them to America. Legend has it that the bros played instruments on the ship to help pay the fare. I know a lot of the hardcore folks have probaly seen this, but I'm sure a lot have have not. Just thought I'd share a pretty cool pic.

Thanks cool pic!! I've seen it somewhere before, but its kind of weird looking at it now immediately after seeing Ed, Al, Dave & Wolfie together in that Rolling Stone pic.

You mentioned how they played together to help pay the fare. I remember reading a quote in some VH book where Ed & Al wondered why their dad got a bigger cut of the pay than them for performing, and all dad had to say was
"Welcome to show business!"

I have a buddy from MI and he's a good dude ....
He won't let people park foreign cars in his driveway cause his whole family works at either Ford or GM .... cracks me up everytime he tells that story..
