Van Halen Past Present and Future....

So I remember the days when you used to watch Van Halen I video's on the original MTV I just wanted to go to a show and jump on stage as they seemed like the band that had the most fun ... Then they broke up... next we have Van Halen II, well Sammy was a good choice he was the red rocker after all, not the same as the original but they had alot of great tunes and energy as well , then off with Sammy then the Extreme guy for Van Halen III can't say I have ever heard a song by this version of the band , I do want to tho...not sure if I would call this van halen or not? If I can find the cd or somewhere to listen to the music online I may post again on this topic. Anyhow missed the tour of the Van Halen I & II front men ... kind of bummed on this one as I am sure it was quite colorful after all they could get it together to do a show. I did see the last tour of the reunion with Sammy, the stage preformance was good , the sound was terrible... not sure if it was the band, sound guy, or venue ... I will say it was still worth the way over priced tickets. Now for Van Halen touring with DLR without MA not sure how that's going to go, I am sure I will go see it, will be interesting with a kid touring great that he has talent and network, not sure I would put my kid in an enviroment like that on a regular basis. However why can't they do a tour with the original members (Dave and Michael) and Sammy so that it can be the real Van Halen(s) and each singer can sing there songs & the bands originals as original? and quit reinventing... is it ever going to happen IN THERE LIFETIME? I don't really know what the problem is with these old guys not getting it together for there fans? If we are so important and a great hand in them making it big in the first place why can't we get what we want? As for some of the comments on the band being the band because of the name "Van Halen" it's just a name not the members we would have loved them just the same no matter what the name! As they are all the reasons why they are who they are it was a combined effort, in the days when they were big would all the issues that keep them from touring together now have mattered then? Much easier to blow things off when you are younger I guess. Anyhow if this is another Van Halen is going to get back together again and tour that never happens can they quit doing this to us ... I am hopeing its real this time, it is posted on the Van Halen site after all. All I know is I love the music they put out don't follow all the drama and media on them but have recently been looking if it was true they were up for touring again and came across some posted that sparked me to vent.... so thanks for listening to my up chuck

The thing that stands out to me the most about this post is that it is "THEIR" not "THERE".

I like the color blue, but green is still my favorite.

    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

I like blue just not for print.
I fell for the classic VH sound Ed's guitar was like nothing I had ever heard before. Daves vocals and lyrics were beyond bizare. Mikes thunderous bass and background were awesome. Als drums were beyond belief. VH2 was incredible a lead singer who could actually sing. Whos' lyrics made sense. The band had finally made it. I was no longer ashamed to be a Van Halen fan. Then came 3. The album was, different. It was Van Halen but it was different. The live show I was surprised they were good really good. They played the old favorites. Hell, they started off with Unchained. It kicked ass. This Gary guy he wasn't half bad. A long time passed. Van Halen sucked I was patient. 2004 came I saw them 4 times mostly good. I enjoyed myself. Now comes 2007....I never really thought it would ever happen. So far I haven't been disappointed. VH should take a little from their experience in '04. Don't look back move forward.............

Oh, yeah, of course blue is a great color. My last custom guitar was blue. But as I've been choosing finishes for my upcoming guitar project, I'm drawn to green. So it'll be a green quilt top, I think.

I will take responsibility for derailing this thread (though it did start out on very unstable ground to begin with).

You were ashamed to be a VH fan before Sammy joined?

    That's pretty harsh.

I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen
