sometimes with news like this
Sometimes with news like this, when the tour is postponed, and as it seems Eddie is not doing well, I just wish he would stay at home, make music for himself, make musical products and enjoy his life.
The news about the tour without Mike, was hard, but the news about the tour postponed is even worse, RIGHT NOW it's really hard being a diehard VH fan, and we should stay positive Eddie will try (at least try) and solve his problems, and then we shall hear new stuff from him, or a tour with whoever he wants, as for now I just wish him the best, and hope he goes and accepts the RRHOF induction cause he deserves it.
I have hope."I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth
WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

Amen
But as long as Ed is in control, which is the only way he will have it...he will never get any help...from anyone...
Big brother Al needs to step up and do what any other big brother would do...give his brother a couple of shots to the gut and say, "Get your fucking act together for Christ's sakes!!!."My man, when you are fantasizing, don't go for attainable, you can get attainable at the local Applebee's. - Dave's Dreidel

Good post.
I've been upset with this band and how they have treated fans. VH has always been a 110% band, but over the last 10 years, things have been half-assed, poorly promoted, repackaged, and strung-out for too long. I was a die-hard for so long and thought I would never have some of these feelings that I have now. But people are turning because this has gone on too long. When Dave appeared with VH on MTV he was a little more than 10 years removed from VH, now we are 10 years removed from the MTV stunt...fan-wise the only really good thing we've had was a great tour with Gary at the vocals...at least he tried to satisfy fans of both eras
Sometimes we forget these are real people and not just rock stars. I think Wolfie is the life blood right now for Eddie. That's really sad for Wolfgang. The kid is only 15, he needs to be a kid. If Ed and Dave were at odds, I don't think Dave would be kind to Eddie...I think Dave is concerned too. Sam and Mike have been burned by it too, but I think they support Ed still. There have been some artists that have really produced great music after cleaning up well beyond their prime, and grow old gracefully...I thought VH was on that track with Balance, hopefully one day we will see it.

SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS
"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls
"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

Sometimes I think if Wolfie is as good as they say he is, put him on guitar, bring back Mike on bass with Dave on the vox and Al on drums and THEN tour.
Leave Eddie locked up in rehab until he cleans up his act.

I hate comments like this. Why even interject? If you don't want to come into the house, why stand at the door and knock? We are talking about VH. Sure this is nothing new being discussed, but discussions can go several different directions...We've only had a handful of new things to discuss in the last 10 years anyway. I personally get tired of having to read through certain, overposting members that hijack threads and having a pissing contest with each other...it gets old, so that's why new threads start...some of you act like it actually cost you money for each new thread...Geezus H Christ..does it really matter that much in your world?

DLR, circa 2001:
"Hey this is David Lee Roth and I promised you the news and here's the news.
About a year ago myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing!
In the following several months Edward and I, Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth, created some of the most amazing, phenomenal - the hands fell off the clock ladies and gentleman and we wrote three astonishing tunes.
That was last July (2000) and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music, but I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note - I'm ready to go.
And I am positive for the future ladies and gentleman.
Stay tuned and I'll tell you what the future brings..."

Yes, Balance. Balance was a good record. It wasn't the party band, and that was my entire point. They matured with Balance. Ed played great live. He looked like he was going to age well. He was clean for the most part. It wasn't an embarassment to be a hard-core fan.
No, not 22 years. Regardless of what any one says, the Hagar era was successful.
Dave seems to by the mature one now, and least likely to embarass the band...

You know, after all this, I just hope Eddie gets some help. Fuck touring, fuck making new music for all us whiney bitches (me included). Just get cleaned up and enjoy life, dude. We are all gonna be so pissed off when we are dead when we realize the time we wasted on fighting and bitching.
You got some cash, you've got a good son. Enjoy those things. If we never heard another thing from Mr. Eddie Van Halen, but knew he was cleaned up, happy and in good spirits, that's all that matters.
The business of getting back together with people he "broke up" with seems to wear on him more.
Don't be a stat. I'd rather hear someone say, "What ever happened to ...." than the phrase, "Oh, man, what a shame, what a loss, what a waste."
Sing on brother.

Don't know about any submarines, but doesn't Subway sponsor Motley Crue? Must be nice that Vince and Co. get free meatball subs for life. :smokin:
