    Default Montrose

Maybe this should be in the music thread, but I thought it would be applicable here. Since it's pretty much certain Sammy won't ever play in VH again, I think a Montrose reunion and album would do very well. I love the Wabos, but Montrose is too often overlooked as a great rock band and they were far too short lived. The first album just plain rocks from start to finish. I love Space Station #5, Make It Last, Rock Candy, and I Don't Want It.
Paper Money didn't have as much balls, but it didn't have a single bad song on it. I love Underground, I've Got The Fire and Paper Money. these albums looked like an amazing start for a rising rock band, but it was so short lived. Then in 1997, when they reunited to do "Leaving the Warmth of the Womb" on MTM, they proved they were still a musical force. Possibly my fav song on that album. Any thoughts or opinions on any of this?

sammy's already reunited with montrose in the last couple of years as a tack-on special performance to a handful of his solo shows...

while the montrose stuff is good, i don't think there's a big pent up demand for it to warrant a full-fledged tour...

at most, i think you could see them getting together to do a new track or two for a compilation or as part of a solo project from ronnie or sammy...

Ronnie Montrose is currently working on a new project, "10x10", which will have a rotating cast of singers, Sam being one of them, I believe on a couple of tracks. HERE is a news article on this.

Leaving the Warmth of the Womb was basically a Montrose recording and it was a cool tune, I could certainly get behind an albums worth of music like that.

Montrose rocks, plain and simple. George Lynch did a pretty cool cover of Space Station #5 a couple years back. Would love to hear him and Sam rip that song up live.

There was going to be the rumored Montrose reunion tour this summer. I was disappointed when we learned it wasn't going to happen.

A new Ronnie Montrose album sounds cool, but I would like to see a new, full-blown Montrose album.

Montrose were awesome. Here's a couple of threads from the past regarding the band:
