    Default VHND.net

A little bit of an update at www.VHND.net. The most interesting part is in bold print.

Melodicrock & the VHND address the Tour Postponement Rumors
    February 21st, 2007

A new rumor has been circulating that says the Van Halen tour has been "indefinitely postponed". But don't worry - the tour will very likely still happen this summer.

Melodicrock.com issued a Van Halen update in response to the rumors yesterday, saying in part:

"I am told that this postponement should be just that - a temporary situation that can be sorted so that the dates that had been arranged can be re-booked and announced down the track somewhat. The band is unlikely to comment beyond the fact the tour will (at this stage) start later than originally planned. The line-up for this tour remains Eddie, Wolfgang & Alex Van Halen and frontman David Lee Roth."

Also, the VHND's own sources are telling us not to worry and that the tour is indeed going to happen. We know that the date that the tickets were to go on sale has been pushed back from late February to sometime in March. We are hoping that the main reason for this delay is to coincide the official announcement of tour dates with Van Halen's March 12th induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Another rumor we want to address - we are surprised to see that some websites are saying that Van Halen is currently being managed by Eddie's girlfriend (Janie Liszewski/High Profile Media). While it is true that Eddie's girlfriend is the band's publicist, the band's manager for the last three years is Irving Azoff.

I know it's probably posted somewhere in another thread but I thought I'd post it anyway. Take it for what its worth and remain hopeful. Peace.

This was the part that I was trying to impress upon all of you (of course there is no earth shattering info as I am not an insider). I remain cautiously optimistic regarding all things Van Halen. Peace. AP5150

WTF do they consider "late February"??

There are 7 more days left in the month and there had been no date announced that tickets were going on sale.

Jeff from the Van Halen Store bought the domain and had it restored. Updates definitely aren't timely like they once were when Grant ran it; things get here much quicker it seems. Unfortunately a lot of the posts are also advertisements for stuff being sold through the VH Store.

    Andrew,

As for the VHND now compared to when Grant ran it - Grant did a hellova job for many years, but everyone sure forgets how Grant hardly ever updated it during the last year and a half he ran it. It was a good thing that he sold it! The VHND has had a TON of updates this year & last year.

As for timeliness, it is simply not possible for a news website like the VHND to be updated as timely as a place like VHLinks. VHLinks is updated by thousands of people, and during every minute of the day. The VHND is updated by two people, both of which have full time jobs. That being said, I think that all MAJOR news makes it up on the VHND, and usually pretty quickly.

The VHLinks & the VHND are very different websites, for different kinds of people. The Links is for people who basically want to spend a LOT of time reading about VH. The don't just want the major news... they want every little morsel. The VHND, however, is for people who DO NOT want to do that, or simply do not have time to do that. It's for people who want to go there for one or two minutes, read the main news, and then move on with their day.

As for advertisements on the VHND for VH products... that's what supports it! And I don't think many die hard VH fans would be bothered by seeing ads for Van Halen products.
