Hey folks!

I've been lurking for quite some time but felt I needed to chime in! I'll keep it brief. Please bear with me....

I am a HUGE Dave era fan. The magic will always be there with the first six albums. But the more I see Dave trying to be "1984 Dave", I have to admit, I'm embarrassed for him. Why can't he embrace the fact that he will EASILY be defined as the greatest front-man in rock history and move on from there? He doesn't have to prove ANYTHING anymore. He's already done it. He's a legend. I would think he would be happy with that. If I could convey one singular thought to the the great "Diamond Dave", it would be this...
You possess within you the true power to bring real rock music back to the masses. Please Dave, in fact, I EMPLORE you.... realize how many of us want to be released from this hell of manufactured pop stars!!!! There is only one band that can heal the wounds of this country! And that would be the one, the most high and all MIGHTY! The original VAN HALEN!

Please Dave, let the past be the past and give rock another kick in the ASS like we all know you can!!!

Peace!
"If you go out and buy a Van Halen record and put it in your collection, it will melt your other records." -David Lee Roth, 1982.

Good to be here!

What are your thoughts??? Do you think Dave can still pull it off? Is there hope for the future?

Is it up to Dave to reunite with VH? Is it up to Eddie? Is it up to Alex? Is it just a never ending pipe dream for all of us "Rothtards"?

I agree with you regarding the first six albums. There will never be anything like 1978 to 1984 again as far as Rock-and-Roll is concerned.

Just Max, thank you very much. Unfortunately, my hopes for the Diamond One are rapidly diminishing. The dude needs to lay off the booger and the cigs. It doesn't help his voice much. To me it sounds as if he's trying too hard. If you listen to alot of Sammy Hagar fans (Better Glenn? I took my medication my friend. And I do thank you buddy. ) he apperantly can't sing anymore. I have downloaded alot of Sam and Dave shows over the past few months, and yes he can cut it vocally IMHO. Personally, I think that he is singing too well live and that aint' Dave. His live act has always been about being the ultimate showman. I think that Roth needs to drop the Crypt Ceeper look and the Liberace duds, cut his hair and come back to reality that he's a fuckin' rock and roll legend. I think that if he is going to go anywhere in the future he needs to concentrate on his life beyond the celebration of his glory years with VH. I mean he does have a shitload of solo material that kicks some major ass IMHO.

By who (whom???)??? To us, a handful of major Van Halen fans, sure. But go grab 10 people off the street at random, how many do you think would pick Dave as the greatest frontman of all time?

Please Dave, in fact, I EMPLORE you.... realize how many of us want to be released from this hell of manufactured pop stars!!!! There is only one band that can heal the wounds of this country! And that would be the one, the most high and all MIGHTY! The original VAN HALEN!
Van Halen isn't going to save anything. It would be a huge splash reunion, but it wouldn't change anything long term.

It really doesn't seem that long ago when I was expressing a desire to see Dave drop the Van Halen show and was being told how much I hated Dave and that I wasn't a fan. Hmmm....

I agree Glenn,

When I hear people mention Dave as being a legend, I really wonder what world they live in. Sure, the guy could jump around, look sexy, cool. He never could sing very well live. His timing is always off, forgets lyrics and never seems to give a shit about singing a song very well. Granted, the guy could get the party started and keep it going. The only legend in this band is Edward, always has been and always will be. Most non Van Halen fans find Dave to be a Clown, while most agree that Edward is a true musical genius. It is up to all of them and all they do is fight, and i agree with u as far as nothing will ever be like their first 6 albums.

Right on chain. I never, ever, seen DLR as Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen is Van Halen and because of his hiatus, we have no Van Halen. If Dave or Sammy wanted to come back and sing, and Eddie didn't want to do it, there still is no Van Halen. The Sam and Dave tour last year was not billed as Van Halen, because without Eddie, neither Sammy or Dave is Van Halen. Period!
