VAN HALEN TOUR POSTPONED:
Yes, it is 100% true that the Van Halen 2007 tour has been indefinitely postponed. Details are a little thin on the ground and no one is talking on the record, but I did manage to talk to my contact who originally told me of the re-union plans in October last year.
Despite what little has been said publicly so far, it seems there are issues beyond paperwork and contracts that need to be ironed out. Van Halen has always been a volatile mix of personalities and 2007 is no different. Basically those involved in putting this tour together won't commit further until all issues are dealt with, hence the postponement of current plans.
I am told though, that this postponement should be just that - a temporary situation that can be sorted so that the dates that had been arranged can be re-booked and announced down the track somewhat. The band is unlikely to comment beyond the fact the tour will (at this stage) start later than originally planned.
The line-up for this tour remains Eddie, Wofgang & Alex Van Halen and frontman David Lee Roth.

Why not work out your petty issues BEFORE you cock tease the fans AGAIN. What a joke this band has become. This just might be the final straw in my long standing die-hard beliefs.

I'm not going to say whose at fault here, but my guess is that he is dutch, has fake teeth, and thinks bassplayers of 3 months are a great idea.

By the way, is there anyway we can just change the name of the board so WE are not associated with this shitty band anymore? Let's just call ourselves something that has nothing to do with Van Cock Tease. I feel more like Twisted Sister right now: "We're not gonna take it, anymoooooore!!"

Andrew went well beyond this statement last night in the pollstar thread. He had to be careful because his source asked him to not say too much, but he did his b est to try and clue us in on what the deal is, as he understands it.

If u go back and read pgs. 18-35 or something like that, you may get a feel for how it went down.
Dont go expecting wide-open revelations, but if you pay attention to what he says and some of the other banter, you'll get an idea of where he was heading.

Translation: If it wasn't already clear to everyone that VH sucks at PR and thinking about the fans, it's sure clear now.

Andrew stated that the issues were not external, the lineup has remained unchanged but that (he alluded to this and didn't state it outright) the issues were internal and some member(s) were in no condition to tour at the present time (not an exact quote but the vibe is the same). Given the history of the band, one can infer that Ed is the culpable one - I got the idea that his bad habits finally interferred with their tour plans and they called them off until his issues can be resolved.

thanks... i'll probably wind up going back to the thread... it just got very unwieldy after a while and had given up on it...
