One of the cooler days of my life. Freshman in high school. Went with my brother and his Mizzou friends. Naked chicks everywhere, 40,000 + people there. Great party.

I was at this EXACT show. I was 13 and went with my older brother and his buddies. It my first time seeing Van Halen, and I was so stupidly giddy it was amazing. We ate at Byerly's restaurant in St. Louis Park, then headed on out to the Metrodome while listening to "Appetite For Destruction." I really wasn't into any of the other bands (and still am not with the exception of Metallica), and I pretty much sat in my seat until Van Halen hit the stage at about 9:00. It was damn LOUD, I remember. I think the sound engineers were used to their levels at all the outdoor stadiums and didn't know to turn it down in the "world's largest oil can" (as Axl Rose once put it). I recall Sammy commenting: "We've been outdoors at every show so far, so this is kind of a nice change." The VH show was quite similar to Live Without A Net (which I'd probably watched a hundred times at that point). They opened with "Summer Nights" and played "There's Only One Way To Rock" second. Eddie and Sammy did the call and answer intro thing to "Best Of Both Worlds." I also thought Eddie was covering all the keyboard parts on his guitar when he'd switch over from the intros; of course with time I've realized the keys were sequenced. During Mike's bass solo he did the big trick where he slowly raised his bass up as the delay pitched up and went faster, but the neck broke off from the body and Mike threw it down to the stage. Then a roadie (possibly Dugie) ran out, cleaned up the pieces, and returned with the infamous Jack Daniel's bass. Obviously it was a planned event, but at 13 I wasn't so sure. Oh, yeah... and tickets cost $27.50 total--all fees included. Those were the days.

I was at the Philadelphia show at J.F.K Stadium. I was 15 And it was the 1st time i had seen Van Halen. I have seen them everytime they have come to town since. Great show I was also a big George Lynch fan so it was cool to see Dokken to.

Cotton bowl, Dallas Texas. George Lynch had equipment problems. Hard too believe. Sammy had vocal problems and promised a free concert downtown. He delivered, they played in the West End ............for free. You had to get there early or you were screwed, downtown was a madhouse that day.

I remember paying about the same for concerts in 1984 .. and that seemed like a lot at the time.

Yep, saw it in Seattle at the Kingdome. What a blast. But for the getting absolutely crushed on the floor in the GA seating.
My buddy and I went up the day before the show, waited in line to get up front. We were very close to the stage, but just getting torn apart by all the pushing.
By the time Dokken hit the stage, we had bailed and were sitting up in the 100 level.

    Default Monsters of Rock

This was my first time seeing VH. I was 18 years old and I still say it was the best concert I've ever seen. The show was in Foxboro, MA. (where the Patriots play) I remember the concert was announced, but tickets hadn't gone on sale yet, then all of a sudden the concert was cancelled. The Foxboro town of Selectman after approving the concert, then changed their minds. VH threatened a lawsuit because it was gonna screw up their tour schedule. If I remember correctly, the bands had three days off in between shows because the stage took so long to set up and breakdown. The town of Foxboro was scared that the fans were gonna tear the town apart. Cooler heads prevailed, and VH and the town came to an agreement. The show had to be shortened by 3 hours. The Foxboro show started at 4 PM, so Kingdom Come was told to take the day off and all the other bands had to shorten their sets. Also, the town put a cap on how many tickets could be sold. I believe they only let the bands sell 40k seats in a 50k sest stadium. It was still great. One of the best days of my life. One scary thing happened on the way to the show. My friends and I took a Greyhound bus called the "Concert Coach" from downtown Boston to Foxboro. On the highway someone shot out one of the bus windows with a gun. Everyone was alright, and my friends and I still laugh about how we could of got killed on the way to our first VH show.
