Need help with the name of this classic rock acoustic song

Was hoping someone could help me out here. There's a song by a band of the '70's that is a really fast-tempo acoustic and keyboard song but it's mostly the acoustic riff that's so recognizable. There are no lyrics and I'm positive you all have heard it and know it. I thought it was by Emerson Lake and Palmer but I did a search of their catalog on iTunes and couldn't find any samples of it. So, maybe it's not ELP.

Sorry for the very vague description....hopefully someone can help?

I was thinking of ELP's "In The Beginning" but you said it wasn't in ITunes (and it's kinda slow).

Do you know any of the lyrics? If it's a classic rock song from the 70's you really only need to state about three consecutive words and I bet you will have an answer within 30 seconds.

No, there are no lyrics. Shit, I wish there was a better way to describe it but because there are no words it's kind of tough. I don't know why but both Emerson Lake and Palmer and ELO came to mind but I guess it's not by either of them. I'm almost certain it wasn't by a huge band of the 70's, but a band that might be able to scrape together enough songs to have a Greatest Hits.

Haha....I can tell you the fast acoustic part goes like this:

da, da, da, da, da, da da, da, da. Da, da, da, da da........da duh duh duh!!

Fire on High - Electric Light Orchestra

iTunes doesn't sample the acoustic part, (they cue the intro) but I am betting this is the tune.

I'm gonna second that one. And I didn't know the name of it, or who did it until about 6 months ago myself. The classic rock station would usually play it without any ID at all.

Lol...Check out the best I could find. Here's a lame-ass MIDI file of the song. If you give it a minute it'll get to the acoustic part I described earlier (in MIDI form).

If they didn't have such a rotten sound sample on iTunes I would have gotten this. Thanks for the help!

I'm banging my head against the wall because I was thinking of the ELO song too, but the "acoustic" description threw me. That song has friggin everything in it.

Yes, it does have everything and I can see why I misled you by calling it an acoustic song. But IMO it's the acoustic riff that makes the song.
