Our Crappy House

Well, most of you have probably read the story of the attempted break in. Some commented on the door being old, etc.

Here is my webpage dedicated to this house, which is a piece of crap! I've been planning on doing this for a long time, I just didn't have access to a digital camera all of the time. Now that I have one of my own, it has finally happened.

The first two pictures are the repair job on the door. They are supposed to put a new door in either today or tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how that goes. I'm not holding my breath.

Those pictures are nasty, and the house looks exactly as you described it. I'm guessing when you rented the place out from the begining it was a piece of shit then? If so, why did you bother renting it? I'm sure there are plenty of other places to live? Get out of that dump.

Viking, you need to make sure that hot water heater is venting well, that could put carbon monoxide into your house. The tank itself looks pretty new, but the vent pipe looks like garbage.

Woah...

I was honestly looking through every pic to try and find something positive to say, like "good bones" or roof or ....something, but honestly can't find one thing! That place should be torn down.

The only positive I can find is the floors. If they were re-done, I'm sure they'd look pretty sweet if they aren't warped.

I was looking at homes in rural Missouri that ran around $24,000 or less and ALL of them are in better condition then that one.

I would be afraid of going through the floor or having the roof cave in.

Seriously, if there was any way possible to get out of there I would leave. Especially if the land lady's son physically threaten you.

They are most probably aware of the pictures being taken, as our next door neighbor, who also happens to be the
landlady's son-in-law, saw us taking pictures and came over and asked us what we were up to. We'll see what happens
next.

Okay pal.....everything about this stinks to high heaven. The worst part of this isn't even what's in the pics, rather it's in your own text. Wholehearted agreement with all those before me......it's time to go.

Seriously my friend, leave that friggin shack behind before things go Tarantino with the landlord's thugs. I see zero good coming from staying.

We pay $300 a month for this piece of shit. We've been discussing finding another place today. One problem is we are pretty short on cash, and another is we have 2 dogs and 2 cats. It's hard to find a place with the situation we're in.

The landlady came and measured the door with one of her thug sons, and that's the last that I've seen of her. Meanwhile, I've been under the house fixing broking water pipes from our last cold spell. The line where the washing machine empties out to had completely come apart as well as the line coming from the kitchen sink. It looked like the one from the sink had been undone for some time, since there was quite a bit of water down there.

I'm a pretty easy going guy, but enough is enough and it's starting to affect my relationship with my fiancee. She's pretty fed up, and I can't say that I blame her.

I'm sorry for your bad situation. It's common sense maybe but my advice is to find another place asap. Work two jobs if need be. If the owner of that building has let it go that far and is happy getting $300.00 a month from a rental unit imo there is no way she's going to be fixing anything anytime soon.I'd get out before that porch collapses. That house doesn't look safe.
