Mama Van Halens Funeral

is the ultimate reason MA was tossed cuz he missed mama Van halens funeral? I think that would def. piss anyone off. excuses are just that. if you want to be do somewhere you will make it happen. any thoughts on this?

Seems logical. I'm not buying the idea that Eddie is permanently pissed off at Mikey for touring with Hagar, because he obviously forgave Hagar (at least temporarily).

However, if Mikey skipped Mama Van Heineken's funeral, Eddie and Alex would be understandably pissed, and it wouldn't be Dave's place to tell them to get over something like that.

If you believe Vince's last VHML "exclusive update" (and I regard anything from the VHML with suspicion instinctively myself) then attempts were made to get Mikey back in the fold. If this were all about "The Other Half", I think it would be a resolved issue already. Therefore, I think this bad blood runs a little deeper.

And while I'm never one to make excuses for the Lying Dutchmen, this would be one case where I really couldn't blame them for being pissed off.

People seem to forget Ed wanted to replace Mike Anthony as far back as the early 80's. Bill Sheehan corrobated this in interviews you can find on the net. Ed for whatever reason was never happy with Mike as their bassist. If you ask me, the funeral and other Half thing were just convenient excuses to get rid of Mike.

I heard that he did attend the funeral but was caught peddling his sauces at the services. That was when Ed and Al decided they had enough and then parted ways.

Unless it is true. People at NAMM were saying that although Ed had an issue with the "Other Half" thing, the big issue regarding Mike was because he didn't attend Ed and Al's mothers funeral. In addition to that, there was no card or flowers sent by Mike and no phone call. Even Dave reached out to Ed and Al at the time. I had heard discussion about this even before NAMM. People are just assuming Ed pushed Mike out of the band because of the Other Half and for selling hot sauce. It seems like there is more to this Ed/Mike thing than many think.

I don't know how u guys organize funerals in your own families, but I would not invite my friends to my mom's funeral. My mother's OWN friends, yes. Plus the whole family. But friends of the kids, or even work colleagues? Why?

As far as calls, who knows? Can someone find the date of this funeral. I'm not buying it.

What? You're friends will probably want to go to pay their respects to you're mother. With the passing of time, i have been to a lot of my friends parents funeral. How could i NOT go?
