Van Halen 2.0? More suggestions for a name for this new version of the band, please!
So we've had the original Van Halen, just plain old Van Halen they were known as or Classic Van Halen they were called later on. Then the Hagar lineup, known widely as Van Hagar to differentiate it from the original lineup. The Cherone lineup had a few names, Van Cherone, Van Extreme etc.
I'm wondering what name will stick for this line up? I'm actually quite liking Van Halen 2.0 at the moment as it like indicates it as a close relation to the Classic Van Halen lineup. Who knows maybe it will be an upgrade, we'll have to wait to hear what they can do live! I'm getting pumped for this tour now!
Anyone got any more suggestions or guesses about what name will stick?

VAN HALEN. period
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

If its been Van Halen with three different lead singers, I think its going to be Van Halen with a different bass player.
Did Chicago, Bon Jovi, Journey, Metallica and The Rolling Stones change their names when they got new bass players?
Its Van Halen.

Before Peter Cetera wanted to be Steve Perry, Chicago was a bad band. Cetera was a decent player as well.
Its the former trumpet player in me that made me think of them first.

Because, of course, those situations are exactly like this situation in which a guy who has been with a band for 30 years was replaced by a kid just as the original lead singer returned and the band was inducted into the RRHOF. So when exactly does it stop being Van Halen anyway?!? When EVH and/or AVH quits or is replaced?!? I'm interested in knowing when you will reach your tipping point. When the next lead singer replaces DLR after this tour?!?

As far as I'm concerned, there are 4 versions of Van Halen:
Version I = CVH
Version II = "Van Hagar"
Version III = "Van Cherone", "EVH's solo album"
Version IV = no new music, just an imitation of CVH
Each version has their own distinct sound.
Van Halen = I + II + III + IV
Will there be a fifth version of VH ???DLR, circa 2001:
"Hey this is David Lee Roth and I promised you the news and here's the news.
About a year ago myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing!
In the following several months Edward and I, Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth, created some of the most amazing, phenomenal - the hands fell off the clock ladies and gentleman and we wrote three astonishing tunes.
That was last July (2000) and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music, but I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note - I'm ready to go.
And I am positive for the future ladies and gentleman.
Stay tuned and I'll tell you what the future brings..."

Well, I’d much rather listen to Van Halen over anything by Black Sabbath. And I like Sabbath, but they’re not Van Halen.
