Default I have had it with...

I love Ed man... But goddamn...

I have had it with Ed's bullshit that Sam and Mike were out selling cabo and sauce. Are you kidding me? Ed went out everynight and played a "hand-striped" guitar so that his "loved fans" can shell out huge cash for them ($20,000+)... He just sold 300 $25,000 frankies... He has/had pedals, strings, amps guitars, d-tuna's. etc... None of which the band profited from... Who is he kidding????

What does he expect people to do? Sit around and do nothing w/ their lives while he doesn't want to play for years. And I know some of you are going to say he had a divorce and cancer... Does that mean his "firends" can't create business?

Does Sam really get into the Cabo brand? Sure... But so what... Let's not forget, Ed could have kept his portion of that gig... And if he had, I highly doubt that he would not push it himself... It's called being jealous...
It is sad and speaks to his insecurities and huge ego. Which I believe is what is the cause fo all the bands issues...

And one last thing... If you are going to call these guys friends and share writing credits 25% down the line, don't down the road take credit for everything. He didn't have a problem with Daves "tribute band" the last decade...

His saving grace is that he is the greatest player ever... But he knows that too.

You my friend .. are 100% correct! .. Ed seems to be selling out more than Sam and Mike! Why should he care about a little "hotsauce" anyway? LOL

all the time ed was off was mikey pounding on his door wanting to jam with ed,was he bringing some insperation to the band.probably not.or was he just waiting around for ed and alex to do it themselves again.probably.Any where in mikeys interviews did he ever say he was ever inspired went to eds to jam but was turned away .no.he was just waiting for someone else to make the call.Does that sound like a 25%,an equal split,to you.Eds probably an asshole i cant deny that, but maybe mikey should have tried to pound on his door once or twice instead of waiting for ed to pound on his.Maybe ed needs to be inspired by somebody once in a while. no offence to mikey, because i love every albums hes been apart of(fair warning and 5150 being my favorates, love his background vocals),but has he done anything that exciting on base since fair warning.he should of stepped up to his role as eqaul partner instead of stepping out with hagar.although hagar is probably more fun to be around,so icant blame him.but i dont blame ed either.Van halen 07eddie, alex , dave and wolf come to edmonton please

mike only got to play on a few tracks of '3' and didn't play at all on the 3 new sammy tracks... that was ed's doing... so if the leader of the band has basically shut you out for a decade or more out of band decisions, i don't think that the venue exists to go to ed and ask "hey, when are we getting the band back together?"

and as to all this 'mike didn't contribute to the songwriting' crap... what exactly did alex contribute to warrant him getting a big share of the writing credits now than to mike's none? if you believe dave's latest statement, he and ed wrote everything, so where's the logic?

splitting the money down four ways is the way to do it if you're going to be in it together as a band of friends... ed lost sight of that and is focused on, "well, i wrote the riffs, so f' everyone else that i can... but let's just be sure that my brother is taken care of..." do the writers of the songs deserve the royalties more? sure, but then you have to set that from the beginning, not retroactively say, "hey, guess what, those agreements we came to 30 years ago don't mean anything anymore..."

The top of another fan's head blew off. It's happening to VH fans everywhere. I was trying to contain the steam when I first read that (at the time) unconfirmed interview; when it became confirmed... well, let's just say I finally posted a few not-so-nice Ed comments.

If you open your window and listen very closely you can hear the distant popping sounds of the heads of VH fans. Sad...

Do you people understand that Tequila and Hot Sauce are not musical products? Eddie doesn't like having his last name and musical body of work associated with those things perhaps? Hmmmm?

Ahhh, another of the new EVH rules I need to add to the list:

    (1) Musicians can't be in two bands at once (even if one of the two bands is inactive)

    (2) Musicians can't sell or promote products unrelated to music

I guess EVH will have to come up with another rule to explain how him hocking a porn flick fits in with all this. He invested in the porn flick, allowed some of it to be shot on his property, and spent at least as much time talking about it being "like Braveheart with a cum shot" as he did his musical contribution to the POS.

Since the 'New EVH Interview' thread has been closed on account of that interview apparently being FAKE... I'll post my response here.

    And that response is simple...

To quote Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men: "Well don't I feel like the fuckin' asshole."

I understand. So now, Ed is gonna be the judge of what is ok, or not ok to sell outside of music?
And the issue of Ed not liking his last name associated with those things, he lost control over that a helluva long time ago. Like about the time he agreed to use his last name as the name of the band. When Sam came up with the Cabo idea, it was fine for Ed at the time. In fact, they all owned it together. He was happy as hell to associate his last name with it when he owned it, and was happy to pimp it on MTV and other places. Had nothing to do with music.
Then, after Ed's no longer part of it, he can then take some ridiculous moral stand about it somehow not buying a "worthy" side project for a musician to be involved with? Or how it somehow demeans his last name? If it does now, it did then. Ed's a hypocrite, if that's what he thinks.
I don't know that. It's more likely that's what your opinion is of why Ed is pissed about it.
