VH in the grocery store...
I was in my local supermarket the other day w/ my son and what comes on over the store speakers? "Beautiful Girls"! I thought the only thing they played were easy listening...I caught myself saying out loud "I've never heard this song in a grocery store" - there was a dude stocking shelves nearby and I saw him smiling and nodding like "you said it"
It must be part of the new VH Press machine...starting slowly by invading retail outlets...don't want to make too big of a spash in the press!!
Where's the strangest place you've heard VH?

I was watching a movie the other night called "Mission to Mars". It's a serious themed movie of a crew looking for others who's mission got sabotaged. While the girl is doing some computer work on the space shuttle, she takes off her headphones and it's playing "Dance the Night Away". I thought man, this is really out of place and unexpected. Cool though.

Satellite radio and retail music services are the way now; anything that was once a hit can and will be heard often. It really shouldn't be that surprising.

I work in the photo lab at a Walgreens. You'll also hear You Really Got Me, Pretty Woman, and a bunch of solo Sam and Dave stuff there. All the better music plays after about 7-8 PM. I heard You Really Got Me, immediately followed by Just Like Paradise the other night.

The Vons/Pavilions chain out here has embraced a lot of mainstream rock in the last year, so it's not uncommon now to hear Halen, Floyd, and Rush among others in the stores.
I'm not quite used to it......ambling down the soup aisle and suddenly hearing "Crazy Train". It's cool.....weird, but cool.LowLifeFlatHeadScum

I heard Right Now get played at the drugstore I work at. They removed the solo and left the chords underneath. I've also heard DLR' Just Like Paradise. Pretty cool.

Runaway is one of those songs that are so 80's love it. Just like Jump reminds me of the 80's.
