Default Himmler Sought The Holy Grail In Spain

    I love these stories:

    http://news.independent.co.uk/europe/article2241456.ece

Himmler thought Jesus was of Arian stock, that would be Jesus, King of the Jews. A Name given to him by the Romans, who were not Hebrew.

    Nazis are so stupid.

I thought Lucas brought a range of similar stories up several decades ago.

A few years before he was even born? Man, Lucas is talented.

Actually, this story is new, but it's common knowledge about Nazis scouring the world for antiquities in hopes of reinforcing their "Master Race" idiology.
The library at UC Berkeley has a collection of captured Nazi papers on the very subject, along with the translations. I've spent many a long day there reading that stuff.

LOL! I've meant the book doesn't have a surprise element and the REVEALED headline in the article wasn't quite relevant.

And Soviets dug up the remains of Tamerlan the day before Nazis striked on their borders. There was a prophecy that the war would unleash on the country which would dare to find and enter his tomb, and coinsidence or not that was exactly what happened. Stalin ordered to remove the remains to a new location and hide it's whereabouts and when it was complete Soviets achieved their first major victory over Germany near Moscow. Also the day before a victory in the Kursk battle Zhukov spent the whole night in a catedral praying to St. George when the Union was pretty much as anti-christian as the Roman republic was. It doesn't surprise me at all Himmler was after Christian artefact, no matter how much anti-jewish Nazi were.

Besides this recent report, did the Nazis ever eventually go abroad looking for other such antiquities or was it just mere hopeful ambitions?

Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

Yes, they went into Iraq to dig there (the newly formed Baath Party were their security force) and they scoured the Carpathian Mountains, Egypt and Central America. They sent a bunch of guys into Tibet looking for the Arian's decendants (ever read "7 Years In Tibet", the guy who wrote it was in the S.S.).

Himmler was a big follwer of Madame Blavatsky, it was her teachings that lead the Nazis to Tibet in the first place.

Himmler needed antiqueties to give the Third Reich a legitimacy in history, by proving that key figures like Jesus of Nazereth were Arians he could build a foundation for a new relgion with himself as the central power. The SS were to become the high priests of the 1000 year Reich.
