I agree!! The tour he did with them In 1998 was good In my opinion, but he could never fill the shoes of Dave and or Sammy

I've said this time and time again, I like Gary, I enjoyed at times the music he made with Ed, some songs are great, some are not...but hey that is every album. I saw them live 4 times during that tour, each time was great. Gary grew up and currently lives nearby me, so I got that routing for the local boy thing, he's a great singer. My only wish is that when Sam was fired/quit, and the dave thing didn't work out, I wish Ed called the new project, something other than van halen. Would have been better for everyone involved. A new singer, new sound, a new start, a new name.

BTW, I missed a show Gary and his brother did about 3 miles down the road, at some basically dive bar that has live music every fri/sat, a couple weeks back. It was a tribute to the who show. Next time. Anyone catch that?

The Cat IS a class act and a great vocalist. It's just too damn bad people didn't get to hear the second record. I had the privilege to hear over 20 of those demos and had that stuff got out first, not VH3, everyones take on Cherone and VH would have been completely different. Shame.. oh,.
