Opinion on the Mike Situation

What bothers me about Mike being excluded from the tour is the fact that the band is not recording new music. They are playing songs from the first six albums. I'd be more understanding if they were writing new material and felt Wolfgang could be a main contributor, more so than Mike. It seems to me that Ed is being a spiteful brat. It's well known that Ed has played bass on most of the recordings and Mike had been thrown in on back up vocals, but for one more go round, Ed should be a man and do it right this summer. Then next year start over w/ the new bassist, and vocalist. Just seems to me to be very petty. I will for the record be there if the tour makes it to my town.

The tour would be far more successful if Mike was part of it.

Careful about starting a thread like this...

All of the Linkers signed a deal and agreed to no Mike opinions anymore. So nobody wants to debate the details of Mike's firing, what he'll do next, if he did or did not bring it on himself, the potential success/failure of the '07 tour, Dave's pull with Ed on the Mike deal, Mike's friendship with Sammy and The Other Half, Chickenfoot, signing away rights to do the '04 tour, his mullet, his background vocals, and what songs he did/did not play on.

That's right. Nobody wants to talk about that stuff--repeatedly. Not at all.

My suggestion to those people is to not click on the thread titled "Opinion on the Mke Situation"
My next thread will be "who's better David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar"......
That has not been discussed nearly enough.......
