Actually, I'm not here to advertise a live gig, but am promoting a 16 song CD I'm releasing on 2/1/05 entitled Identity Volume 1. Rather than have me waste your time with this post, describing myself and my music, head on over to www.brandonkeirns.com and check it out for yourself, if you've got a moment to kill. I love 80's style rock a la Def Leppard (and of course VH), and I think it shows in the songs. There are 3 full-length MP3s from the CD on the site for you to sample. Take a listen!

    Thanks!

    Brandon

It's the Van Halen of country (Van Waylon) 3 piece with a frontman. People who hate country love us. speedtrucker.com has some samples.

    Well of Souls

Hey guys, I don't have exact dates yet, but my band Well of Souls will be playing the doom festival in June in Indionapolis, and then will be touring some of the northeastern states in July. We are also working on our second album. This one will have me on guitar...heh heh heh.
The music is not like Van Halen AT ALL. The best way to describe it is epic, progressive, doom metal. For those of you familiar with doom, most of it is known as the "lazy man's" metal. It's slow, driving, dark, and not very complex. The musicians of the genre admitedly are not virtuosos by any stretch of the imagination. What surprised me about this band though, was how insanely talented everyone was. Ever hear Van Halen-ish licks played over slow, deathy music? I'm the lead guitar player and am responsible for most of the solos in the songs. Basically, I can create what ever I want with a solo as long as it fits the song more or less. So you hear this really heavy slow-ish music pounding...then you hear pinched harmonics, whammy bar dives, two hand tapping, and shredding...and then the bottom falls out and goes back to a slow, driving heavy riff. Well...it's unique anyway. Live, I even play part of eruption at the begining of a song as a tribute to Eddie.
Anyway..I'll keep you guys posted as to the actual dates.

Speedtrucker, that is some cool stuff right there, bro. "Move Along" has Waylon all over it. Very nice.

You dig Charlie Robison? The Derailers? Texas sure has got some great music.

    Alright, here it is

Alright guys and gals, the next Well of Souls gig will happen on March 19th at around 4 pm. We will be playing at Stubbs Harley Davidson in south Houston on their outdoor stage. We will play for an hour. Not sure of the set list yet, but we'll probably mix old and new material with a cover or 2 thrown in.

    HOT FOR TEACHER

Formed in 1999 to showcase Van Halen's "David Lee Roth" era hits, HOT FOR TEACHER has been relentlessly performing throughout Northern California and Nevada generating a following of dedicated fans and has amazed concert goers wherever they perform with their non stop high energy kick ass Rock-n-Roll show!

HOT FOR TEACHER's solid line-up features four of the most talented musicians who are geared-up and ready to "Rock On" with The Mighty Van Halen's greatest jams!

Vocalist Randy Monroe belts out powerful and high-energy vocal rants while supplying audiences with stage antics grooved to the beat of the music. The ripping, screaming virtuoso fretwork of guitarist Terry Lauderdale stirs audience's into the wildest of frenzy and leaves them in jaw dropping awe! Jimmi Ward's thundering Michael Anthony style bass riffs and, percussionist Larry Howe's "Bonhamesque" stick splintering, skinbashing style, creates the bottom end from hell, which blends into the perfect Rock-n-Roll drink!

Recently HOT FOR TEACHER was invited to perform for Michael Anthony's bass guitar dedication at San Francisco's Hard Rock Cafe. During that evening The Mighty Van Halen bassist joined the band on stage. The already raucous crowd shifted into overdrive as Michael and the boys ripped through an energized set featuring "Women In Love", "Unchained", "Dance The Night Away", "Panama", "Mean Street", "Outta Love Again", and "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love".

HOT FOR TEACHER has been featured in FHM Magazine and can be heard regularly on San Francisco's 107.7 "The Bone" radio station.

HOT FOR TEACHER's demo CD, live performances, Promotional Kit and photos can be easily downloaded at www.HFTROCKS.com. We welcome you to join us at the website Forum to interact with the band and with their fans throughout the world!

    surprise guest appearance

Well, I was just informed an hour ago that I will be the guest guitarist at an acoustic gig at the Right Spice Bar and Grille in Peru Illinois tomorrow night.
I usually do not play acoustic gigs, (one in the last 6 months), so I was hesitant...but the guy that is playing is my friend and suggested some songs we could learn and play.
We are playing, amongst others, Fred Bear (Nugent), Times Like These (Foo Fighters), and an original that we have played once called "The Stew". The Stew is actually a triad excersize that we turned in to an acoustic solo frenzy that changes every time....it is pretty cool and you gotta know what you are doing to keep the tempo and the feel (rhythm).
If you want to check out a few songs of the guy that I am playing with, check out http://rocketradio.comand under artist, type Mark Piecha. To me, this guy is a virtuoso guitarist, yet his songs that he has on this site are more relaxed than what he is capable of. He used to study Vai, Satriani and VH, classical and folk type music. He is his own artist and still has yet to play to his capability on C.D. or live. I beg him to play electric and show off his talent...but no luck so far. He is humble and stubborn to the folk type songwriting...he says he has more to say than play....what can you do?
Check him out, he is a great musician.
And wish me luck tomorrow night.
    Just go for it!

I'm diggin' on your music!!! Great sound. Hey, I'm in Houston and would love to come hear ya'll sometime when you're here or in Galveston. Do you play around H-town very often? By the way...I'm from right outside Charlie's hometown of Bandera (Kerrville). I actually went to high school with his sister. Be sure and post when you have a local gig coming up.

    Some NYC rock and/or roll!

Hey, Thought I'd throw caution to the wind..I'm a usual visitor here but a rare poster..
If anyone is in or around NYC my bands at Arlene's Grocery on the 16th..
Here's a link to some clips from our record that will be out soon!
the 3rd one (MBDSR) has a little bit that was inspired by "I'm the One" in the middle..though it sounds nothing like it..
    Rock ON!
