It really is a shame!
I cant believe I saying this ... But now that all this has happend ya know the roth reunion.... i dont know if i want it... i mean this thing really does have the potential to fall flat on its face...Guys think about it.... Van Halen Were Once the Kings of Rock and Roll... i mean they were the band in which all other bands were judged... This generation does not Know that... I mean remeber seeing the Interview with Billy Corgan In 1996 stating that Roth was Back in Van Halen... His quote was something like ... "Guys we must admit Van Halen was The ultimate for a time" i mean i remeber him giving them thier due justice....It just seems like Times have Changed.... I mean its not really Van Halens fought really i think Rock and Roll is dead or is dying...i hate to state such a claim but remeber with a concert was big deal and kids would just absolutley lose their minds... i dont see that much anymore unless you go to a metal show where the kids are literally trying to hurt themselves.... I know im Rambling...BUT in order for this Reuinon to have any significance at all.. thier needs to be PR PR PR PR .. the machine needs to fuel this Tour... I honestly beleive Eddie just expects people to come because thats all he's ever had to expect... but ED this is not 1985 or even 1995... I really think they need to do like LENO or Letterman or saturday nite live.. or somthing to shake things up.. because the way its lookin right now.... this thing will end before it gets started...

I feel the same Look All the great memories of VH that i have is them playing Sold Out Arenas! and when they did the 3 Tour, it was sad to see they couldn't sell out any more. Now with them fucking with the fans this much i just do see it working.. sorry, I mean look at Axl Rose he is trying to go out there fill the Arenas again but it's not flying. Some show are half full... So i wouldn't be surprised if these Dave shows are not Sold out. And i think that is going to be a big blow to the brothers. I just don't See VH doing Theaters now. That would just be sad and an Arena half full is not a true VH show..... Remember that!
i wish the guys the best. But i just do see anything good about this TourLive by the VH attitude, die by the VH attitude.

read half, scratched a nut and then wrote this. moving on.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

I am guessing they will sell as many tickets as the 2004 show... Not any more... not any less.
I just don't see them marketing themselves on TV or Radio... maybe a couple commercials in the cities they play in... but that is NOT enough..Lets just throw a pound of weed in the fire place, f@#% it!

As Dave once sang, "That's Life." We all have our moment to shine, and not many people go out on top. In the end, we're usually just a shadow of who we once were. People need to let go. The band is dead. There will be no big comebacks with chart-topping singles and full stadiums. I think Eddie has finally realized this and understands that their time has passed. Even a reunion in '96 wouldn't have been any more than nostalgia for a large mass of "fans." No matter how great the band is, less and less of us care each year. People will always compare to the earlier material and it would be no contest to them. So, it's up to the band to either 1) suck it up and move forward, 2) suck it up, but make music trying to sound like you used to, 3) become a nostalgia act and run the oldies into the ground while pleasing all those who grew up when the band was in it's prime, or 4) quit. Van Halen has tried 1) VHIII, 2) Eddie/WB forcing Gary out, getting Dave back, 2/3 BOBW songs with Sammy) and 3) the summer tour. I'm not sure of the motivation for bringing Dave back in, but I'm guessing Eddie is sick of all the BS (that he created) and just wants to accept the current music scene, his current limitations, the band's age, and avoid the pressure he puts on himself to write another hit. As much as Eddie has been a dick, he does have reason to be. The music industry is not at all kind, and he was blessed with enough talent to have two wonderful chances to stay relevant. Nobody here knows what it is like to have so much success and then have it slam down on you. Eddie saw the change in the music scene and altered the tone and style of the band enough to survive with "Balance." Can you imagine being on top for so long and realizing that society was about to kill rock 'n roll? I don't care what people say, rock is dead...at least in the current generation. Sure, a lot of youngins like the old stuff, but all the new stuff is a downer. Nobody is fun anymore. When the fun ended with grunge, Kurt Cobain dragged Van Halen down along with all the bands that tried to be them. It's a damn shame.

This to me might turn out like the Who's reunion in the 90's. It started with some hype, but after the tour started it seemed to fizzle fast. I want to see Dave with VH, but after seeing Daves solo tours I question if they will ever be taken serious again. There have been a lot of bands in the past that broke up and we all wonder what things would be like if they got back together, but sometimes maybe its better just to leave the past the past.
Who am I kidding....Whats the Big Deal....BRING IT ON!!!

times change
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen
