Microsoft Office 2007
I may be able to get my hands on Microsoft Office 2007. Does anyone have it? Is it better than Microsoft Office 2003?

stick to office 03
If you're used to using office 03, I recommend not switching yet, especially if you're paying to upgrade ;-)
If you're new to MS Office, now's as good a time as any to try it out. The 2007 interface is arguably more intuitive... that is as long as you're not already used to the old interface. And there are a few cool new features, like the design features in Word and PowerPoint.

Has anyone tried openoffice.org? It's supposed to be the same thing but FREE! I haven't really done too much with it yet, but ya can't beat the price.

I have tried open office and thought it was an excellent alternative.

It doesn't matter if anyone has it right now or not. Sooner or later, it will get jammed down everyone's throats, like all Microsoft products, and we will have no choice but to use it.

I think we got hosed by Microsoft and Dell. I just got a new laptop and it has 2003 on it and when I opened it up to use the Office programs it let me know that they are all TRIAL copies with links to the new Vista upgrades. So I'm going to have to upgrade. What a hook.
When my hubby bought the computer he got it with the understanding it had the 03 software and the option to upgrade to Vista. That it was just Vista ready. Wait until I tell him that the software is just a trial copy. He won't be pleased.
So is the new software all that much different and am I going to have a lot of new things to learn on it?"Suppose you were an idiot ... And suppose you were a member of Congress... But I repeat myself."

Both my company and the hospital I work at recently switched over to Office 365 and Outlook 365. What a fucking nightmare of adjustments on desktops, laptops and phones for the email.
Now in the last two days I've been inundated with security measures for a ton of shit I used to be able to sign right into. Now I have to get a code on my phone to enter. Hopefully it's only a onetime thing... but it feels more like Skynet is drawing closer with each passing month.
Microsoft is out of control.

I have to do the following every time I login, and again if I am away from my computer for more than five minutes.
Fingerprint read
Username plus password to open up the computer
Username plus password plus PIN (changes every 60 seconds) to open up Windows
Username plus password plus six digit code texted to secure phone to open Outlook, Teams and Office 365
I feel like I spend half my day entering in codes just to open up my laptop and associated programs. If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

It's true. Just got a laptop that is exclusive to the hospital network and it logs you out after 5 minutes of non use. Can't change the time setting either.
Plus somehow putting the new Outlook 365 on my phone screwed up all my notifications sounds without me doing a thing. Fucking thing sounds like a pinball machine when I get and email or text... and I've been playing with the setting for days now and can't find a solution.
Pain in the ass.
