I agree with the point that not letting Dave speak is HORRIBLE for PR. Dave could drum up more interest and at that least get some articles posted on the net if he did an interview and talked about the old days and his excitement. After all there never was a better promoter for Van Halen than Roth. Its puzzling to me, I think we are gonna hear something from him soon, an interview might be granted. And at this point, he's GOT to know that talking about mike or saying even one bad word about the brothers would be the ultimate career suicide. Lets hear from Dave already!

We're only 72 hours on from the press release, and months away from the start of the tour. People expect instant information these days because of the internet, but seriously....

1. Dave hardly said anything about the previous times a reunion was tried. Ed, Mike, even Sammy had far more to say about it.

2. Eddie's already persuaded whoever is funding the tour to accept Wolfgang on bass. Those people want a return on their money, and a large part of that means letting Dave be Dave, not Dave being just the singer.

3. Mike himself said last year that Dave walked away from a $50m tour because his ego got in the way. I can't see him suddenly saying "ok, I'll be a hired hand, shut up and sure...Wolfie on bass, just give me a paycheck".

Sure, the logic on howdy doody mountain doesn't follow that of the real world, but once VH goes on tour the real world gets a say, and a major one at that considering the money involved.

Dave will speak...a lot, there's plenty of time.

Give it time boys, just give it time. I say DLR goes full tilt at the RRHOF. There will be tons of press there, and I don't care if he does have a gag order....Dave will let it loose. That's more of his medium anyway, he's not big into "press releases."

I think they're acting as they should in the reality-TVish kind of world we live in. They're trying to build the anticipation to some reasonable degree given that they've pretty much blown all of their fan capitol they used to have.

And BTW, I doubt Dave is Ed's "bitch" and on his leash. I think Ed has lost a ton of his power. He needs Dave as much as Dave needs Ed.
