Would you accept Wolfie if there was new music?

Would Wolfgang replacing Mike be anymore palatable if they made new music? At least they be creating somethin' new which could be judged on it's own merit. As it stands now, this will just be the nostalgic act that Ed said he would never do.

Absolutely. otherwise it's just cash grab touring and nostalgia rock. Eventually that kind of output lands you in a casino gig.

I gotta believe Eddie is reaching critical mass. It's high time for them to release some damn music.

It could only help their money situation (as that what it seems to me as well), that they slap 8 -10 songs together and put out a CD. You can't tell me there isn't a shit load of material out that we have yet to hear, that they could release as "new". WTF

It's the principle of the thing for me, Ed sits on his bum for ten years (granted he was ill and in personal upheaval) and expects Mike to not play with the former lead singer of the band? Then he gets fired for trying to capitalize on his name? What the hell has Ed done with his amps, his trademarks, Kramers, Fenders, Peaveys, DTunas.. etc except sell his name and likeness at every turn?

You can get anyone to play bass but you can't get just anyone to sing the backgrounds Mike did (or lead, listen to the boots of 'Somebody Get Me A Doctor' on the III tour). For my money a reunion with DLR is no different than the Other Half.

I'm interested in hearing any new music that Eddie Van Halen produces. However, I don't accept Woflie as the Van Halen bass player.

The brothers have been making new music for years.

They just won't let anybody hear it.

Maybe somebody that works at a liquor store in the L.A. area can 'bug' a bottle of Loon when Bruck comes in for a case.

YOu know EDDIE should actually thank MIKE for at least getting out on the ROAD (OTHER HALF)and letting more and maybe NEW fans hear VAN HALEN's music. (Thus providing an increase in interest in VAN HALEN) Instead MIKE gets half assed fired because of it. IF ED is a musician as he says...well why not make and release some god damn music for his fans. What kind of marketing of VAN HALEN music has ED done the last 10 years.
Ohh sorry, NO new music would not matter.....I am eagerly awaiting another box set!!!!

I love reading the no Mikey no Van Halen stuff it is funny that people could accept Sammy after Dave and Gary after Sammy and then Sammy back again.
But now that there is no Mikey its a unaccept cash grab.
Well to me I don't care who it is on the bass last year I went and saw the other 1/2 and I went and saw Diamond Dave.
I didn't go to see them cause they are a bunch of stand up dudes I went and saw them cause I like the freakin music.
When I was younger and a new Van Halen ALBUM came out I didn't buy it to hear backing vocals or the bass.
I bought it to jam to the guitar and rock out if Mikey would have been out of the band in 82 I could have gave 2 shits then.
I understand your point of view that Mikey stuck by Eddie all these years but he was not doing it for free.
There are a lot of positives about this tour coming up I cant believe the people who so willing accepted Sammy are hell bent against VH going out without Mikey.
I for 1 am happy to see Dave back in the band for the simple fact that I get to hear some of the classic tunes e that I haven't got to hear performed live by Eddie for years .
Plus I wont have to sit through eagles fly and right now this tour so I say bring on wolfie lets see what the kid can do..

GOOD new music would make it a lot easier accept him. However ultimately it's just not the same to me.

However having never seen Eddie and Dave on the stage together in person, I won't lie... I'll be there.
