    CHAIN OF EVENTS (A prediction)

First of all, thanks to the 72 or so list members who posted on my last thread. I have been watching and reading so much about this pseudo-reunion that I have been more inclined to post. Right now, my feelings on it are these: In a best-case scenario, I'd have wanted a Sammy and Dave reunion of some sort to close out the band or at least, bring it into the next phase. Second choice would be the CVH reunion with live DVD/box set/ new songs in any combination. Since those don't seem feasible at this point, am I going to boycott, NO? I am 38 and just missed VH with Dave in 84, since tix were hard to come by. I have waited since then to see these 2 guys together. I saw Page and Plant, which had to do as far as my LED ZEP reunion (though rumors abound for 08) So, I guess this is what I will have to settle for. As long as Wolfie can cut it and as long as there's no collapse of the tour, I'd even accept piped in backing vox to see Ed and DLR on stage. That being said, I am going to play Nostradamus and do my VH timeline/chain of events...let's see how well I do when it all goes down. Feel free to comment, or cut and paste them into your own chain of events.

    1. VH OFFICIAL REUNION ANNOUNCEMENT (Already happened)
    2. PRESS CONFERENCE FEATURING ALL PARTIES, announces tour, new best of , acknowledges R/R HOF
    3. ROCK AND ROLL INDUCTION--All members are there. All speak. Tense moments ala Blondie and John Paul Jones. Two songs are played. ONE DAVE ERA, ONE SAMMY ERA. Wolfgang does not participate, but you see him there at table with VAL.
3A. Night of event, tour dates are posted, with tour starting in the south and hitting NEW YORK in late June, early JULY for 2-3 dates at NIKON JONES BEACH Theatre
    4. Tues following R/R HOF BEST OF IS RELEASED. Track listing is different than expected, as well as containing one new DLR track leftover from 96 and a better title and cover than BOV-I
    5. APRIL-Tour starts in VEGAS, some rough spots, all the major news media cover it (E network, MTV, VH1, Entertainment tonight etc)
    6. VH on cover of ROLLING STONE, HIT PARADER, CIRCUS and ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY. (I guarantee all 4 of these!)
    7. After first 5-6 dates, there is some sort of minor disagreement with EDDIE and DAVE over something assinine that DAVE says to the media.
    8. Despite promises to not tour, SAMMY and MIKE, as well as the WABOS do a tour which coincidentally plays cities within a day or two of the VH tour.
9.Announcement that LA shows will be filmed for DVD/LIVE CD combo.
10.As tour is coming to an end, fans are surprised mildly, that set list has changed 4-5 songs since opening night and that cities with multiple shows at least get 1-2 different songs per show.
    11. VH announces that it will continue a second leg of the tour in arenas starting in 2008, with a new album to follow. MICHAEL ANTHONY is reinstituted as the bassist, as both VAL and ED agree that it was a good experience for WVH, but he needs to return to a somewhat normal teenage life.
    12. FEBRUARY 08--New VH Album is released. It contains 12 new tracks, including one where MIKE sings lead. Also announced are plans for a career spanning DVD/CD box set to be released CHRISTMAS 08, containing 2 cd's of unreleased rarities, DVD and CD of Oakland 81 and leftover songs recorded with Dave from 96, 2006.
    13. Simplerhym wakes up from his dream and is late for work!

Well at least you are an optimist.

Nothing in the recent 10 year history of this band would make me think any of this would ever happen.

That would be a huge mistake. Jones Beach doesn't sell alcohol, and there's no way this thing will work in front of a sober audience.

If it's an outdoor amphitheatre tour, and it IS coming to NY, this is the only one IN NY. And they wont play a 10,000 seat shed just one night. PNC Bank Center is NJ and I think 1-2 nights there as well.

With just 40 shows on the tour, it might be limited to just one show per city.

How about they play the Garden and we pretend it's outdoors.

    1. Rock and Roll HOF Induction - Eddie and Dave enter from the opposite side of the stage than Sammy and Mike. Dave opens up his mouth and says "Look at all the Hall of Famers here tonight!" This prompts Eddie to yell out "Cup check!" and he kicks Dave squarely in the nuts. Ten midgets run out and start beating Eddie senseless (doesn't take long). Al, who up until now has been receiving a chiropractic adjustment on his neck backstage, runs out to help, but trips on Billy Gibbons' beard. Sammy is too busy making Waboritas for Deborah Harry to notice anythine else, but turns around just as Al slams into him. The impact sends a Waborita flying across the room and it lands in Sting's lap. He swears that Stewart Copeland threw it on him and the two begin fighting. Andy Summers gets up and leaves saying "Well, there goes our tour." Meanwhile, Mike is just hanging in the background thinking "Right Now, I'd rather be in Cabo." The HOF was nice enough to put Mike's hot sauce on all the tables. On a dare from Jerry Lee Lewis, Ozzy snorts a few lines of sauce and then throws up all over Prince. Seeing the whole VH reunion going up in smoke, Page/Plant and Townshend/Daltry start arguing over who should get Wolfie as their new bassist. Wofie, already like dad, says "Screw you guys" and forms a power trio with Aaron Hagar and Elisha Anthony. End of story.

Uh oh. Does this mean the these feuds are going to last for generations?

Fifteen years from now, Wolfie on guitar with an all-family lineup of Van Halen vs. 'Aaron Hagar and the Waboritas'?

I would above everything else posted, Hope for a new album from V.H.

I think the most likely scenario is that IF this tour goes to completion, Ed is now gonna be pissed at both Sammy and DLR. I think it is highly unlikely that EVH will be able to finish this tour and still get along with DLR. I don't think EVH can get along with any capable singer, he's too much of a control freak.

Is all this means is that the chances of us ever getting New VH tunes with either Dave or Sammy is highly unlikely.

BTW ..................I really hope that I'm wrong.
