Default This just in!!!!! AWSOME NEWS!!!!

No, MA is not back..... But I just saved a bunch of $$$ on my car insurance by switching to GEICO!

hahahahahaha........ Sorry.... I couldn't help myself

I do have a serious question though.....

If Ed were to try to save face, Bring MA back on bass, & put Wolfie on Keys, do you think it would fly?????

They could do the reunion tour, & then move on to whatever they want! I personally think that would work! What do you all think?
    The Pumpkinhead!

"After three decades you still don't get the fact that VH the band was greater than the sum of all of its parts -- and those parts fit perfectly together, especially in the CVH lineup." - Delighted Romeo, Hit the nail right on the God Damn Head!!!

Yes it definitely would work because only a few CVH songs have keys. WVH's solo spot would be the entire 1984 intro. That'll be his claim to fame.
    DLR, circa 2001:

"Hey this is David Lee Roth and I promised you the news and here's the news.

About a year ago myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing!

In the following several months Edward and I, Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth, created some of the most amazing, phenomenal - the hands fell off the clock ladies and gentleman and we wrote three astonishing tunes.

That was last July (2000) and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music, but I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note - I'm ready to go.

And I am positive for the future ladies and gentleman.

Stay tuned and I'll tell you what the future brings..."

Dave's Eat 'em and smile concert had keyboards on every song. It was horrible. I remember hearing keyboards on Everybody Wants Some. Sad.
    Right here I say....

Edd should stick wolf on rhythm guitar and then he can stand at the back like Malcolm young - im sure when he gets his own band (or inherites VH) he wont be playing bass.

That was actually a thought I had a few months ago. I'm sure the kid can play piano, so what better way to get him involved then by having him play keys? Plus Eddie could play with his son like he wants to. The original four would be there, Eddie wouldn't have to play the keyboard, and we'd be hearing live keys (something that has been in question).

Congrats on the car insurance. Shoppers around the world would be proud!

To answer your question, I just don't see how the band could pull this off now, since the announcement has been made.
Personally, if the band wanted to do this and I was Mike, I would pretty much tell them to go fuck themselves. Or, hold out for something like 40-50% of the tour revenue.
I would think at this point Mike would probably just pass, wouldn't he? That's assuming Ed would want to try and "save face." Nothing in his actions of the past 30 years that I know of lead me to believe he will try and "save face."
These days, it's pretty much Ed's way or the highway.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.

does he plays keys? And even if he does, he'd play on what 1 or 2 songs? I think throwing him on guitar would make more sense, judgin by 2004 Ed might need some help.

To answer your question, most would accept it but those people would be there without Mike anyways. Those who are ripping on Ed still will rip on him. It's got personal with most now. This stopped being about Michael Anthony a while ago, these are just bitter fucking people now.

Actually, since you know Mike, do you think it would fly?

If they could get Mike to come back, they could do whatever they want with Wolfie. Keys, second guitar, stand there and shake a tambourine for all I care.

How receptive would Mike be at this point?

Does it even matter if he plays keys?!? Apparently, all the 15-year-old musical giant would need to do is spend a couple of months on the instrument and he'd be the next Geddy Lee, like apparently the kid did on the bass. Just ask EVH.

The only people making this personal is you and your brethren who are supporting this piece of shit tour and new band lineup. Why do you persist in making these broad claims about our motivations?!? Why are you being willfully ignorant?!? I'm not bitter about anything. The real bitterness is from you and those who agree with you on the tour, who are upset that we're pointing out the obvious joke that it is. I'm sorry you consider 30-year fans like me "buzzkills," but that's your problem, not mine.

Yes, I'm pissed about the way MA was treated, but I'm more pissed due to the ridiculous way all the fans have been treated by this band and EVH the past decade, culminating in this joke. How much new music has been released during the past 10 years?!? How many lead singer changes have their been?!? Now we have a goddamn teenager on bass?!? For all this, you don't want anyone to rip on EVH?!? Puh-lease.

    there's be 3 singers, hasn't been a new one in 11 years.

Precious new music has been released in 10 years. Cancer has this terrible habit of slowing down band production. I'm sure Ed will call you and personally apologize if you leave him a number where he can contact you.

and "we" don't have a new bass player, Van Halen does.

It's been a revolving door over the past 11 years and that's the point (SH, DLR, GC, DLR, SH, DLR). I'm sorry you didn't (or chose not to) understand the comment.

Is that supposed to be a witty response?!? The guy chose to put out two tracks for a porn soundtrack just recently instead of doing something with VH. How about the 10 albums of new materials?!? How about all the unreleased stuff we'll never see released?!? Does that bother you as a supposed "loyal fan"?!? Methinks, your fandom is mostly for EVH and not what was once a great band.

BTW, it's tough to take all this sad talk of his cancer seriously when the guy still smokes and tries to tell us he got cancer from guitar picks. It's an insult to everyone who has beaten the disease. But you keep lapping it up like an EVH sycophant.

Whatever, Mr. Semantics. The point is, Van Halen now has a teenager with minimal experience as its bassist. What a joke.

    so many questions.

    1) i guess, you can judge that
    2) don't think they're complete songs- probably just a thousand riffs. Wouldn't make much of an album
    3) what unreleased stuff? if there is enough of it, there will be a boxset one day to extract more money from you.
    4) does it bother me? No, not at all. If they don't think it's good enough to release, they maybe it shouldn't be.

Methinks you don't what the fuck you're talking about.

Whatever, Mr. Semantics. The point is, Van Halen now has a teenager with minimal experience as its bassist. What a joke.
I take cancer seriously, if you choose not to that's fine. He was diagnosed in 1999 and have heard almost nothing from the band since then. I don't think this is a coincidence.

I agree that a teenager shouldn't be in Van Halen. To me Van Halen has always been Mike, Al, & Ed with someone singing. I'd prefer that band be on tour this year, unfortunately that's not gonna happen.

But if they call it the Van Halen family featuring David Lee Roth, that is semantics as the press will still call it Van Halen.
