Default I can't believe Valerie agreed to this!

I mean what about school? This is far from a normal lifestyle for a kid. He's going to grow up all fucked up in the head just like his Daddy.

I am fairly surprised myself that Valerie has given the okay on this.

It does make you wonder what kind of parent sets their kid up for a potential fall off of a very tall stage... figuratively speaking.

Valerie must be as much of a hermit as Eddie is.

Haven't heard one peep of press about the gal in several years.

At his age, it's doubtful Wolfgang will ever want to see the inside of a classroom again after this.

Valerie was on Regis and Kelly in 2004, promoting the One Day at a Time reunion special. Regis did not even mention Eddie; he just asked how Wolfie was doing, and clarified that he was out on tour with "his dad". He didn't even say Eddie's name. That shows you how much the general public is not much interested in the greatest guitarist in rock 'n roll history (imho.)

By the way, the reunion show really sucked. They showed some clips, and made comments about how 'ground-breaking' the show was for the times. Mackenzie Phillips did most of the talking. I don't remember Valerie saying anything interesting.

It really makes ya wonder how far gone Ed and Val's relationship is.

    Hmmmm. I missed that eden.

Val probably insisted that Regis not talk about or mention Eddie since they were on the outs at that point.

Regis, being a good little talking head, went along.

How in the hell did I miss a 'One Day at a Time' reunion special?

I used to hate Eddie when I was a kid after I found out he got Barbara Cooper in real life. Ha!

"wham bam" (LOL) - sorry, but that name is a bit funny...

    Sorry you missed it, really?

I, on the other hand, did not hate Valerie for snagging Eddie. I just fantasizied that I was her. God, she had great hair.

You know what cracks me up? A year ago I made post in a thread about Wolfie.
It can be found here: http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=30021

    In it, I said:
Am I the only one who's sick of Ed cramming Wolfie down everyone's throat. Shit, half the people on this planet have kids. It's not that big of a deal. I mean, is there anything more annoying than someone who thinks their child is soooo damn special that they won't stop talking about them?
I was abused for my comments. But now, everyone is crying about Wolfie. First it's unfair how he replaced Michael Anthony. Then it was laughing at his supposed "talent" after only playing the bass for 6 months. Now, everyone is concerned that his dad is going to screw him up for life. Well, I saw this coming a year ago. Ed's been shoving that kid down the public's throat for a while now, and suddenly the kid has become a member of Van Halen. Isn't that special?

Dude...look around. There's shitloads of performers, actors, musicians, popstars, that are younger than Wolfie.

Either he can play the shit or he can't, there'll never be a fall from grace....what grace? Nobody's giving the kid a chance to begin with so there won't be any grace to fall from !

If you want to be pissy about how Mike was treated, cool, but Wolfie's age or the pressure he's under will have nothing to do with whether he fails or not, so use the Mikey argument to prove how fucked up Ed is, it's a better one.

I am truly shocked that Val would go along with this as well. I keep thinking she will have some kind of safety measures in place - like maybe a child psychiatrist back stage. People on here say they are worried about the backstage antics, i.e. groupies, etc. I think the most worrisome thing by far is Wolfie being in the presence of Diamond Dave for even one night!

But how many of them are playing songs 22-30 years old, with bandmates all over the age of 50, when they've only been playing the instrument for months?!? Plus, add in the fact that the original vocalist is touring with the band for the first time in 23 years. Basically, his young age is even more of a problem considering the specific circumstances he's facing. They would be overwhelming for a 40-something with years of professional experience touring and making music.

As I've said before, the kid may be good. I don't know, but I truly don't care. He has no right being in the band, and I certainly don't have any interest in cheering for a kid whose less than half my age.
