Do you think MA will eventually be invited?

Ok, so the tour is now official and Mike is out and Teen Wolf is in... do you think that Mike will be invited to any shows, either as a one-off or to play several songs regularly (maybe like Izzy Stradlin has done for Axl)? It would give Eddie a chance to save face and keep his son on, but would appease (I would think) a whole bunch of us. Personally, I don't think it's going to happen...

Fuck no. The last time you will see Mike in VH is if he shows up for the Hall of Fame induction. It's over after that.

And fans (and Mike!) should be allowed that resolution--one more time live with Ed, Al, Mike, Dave, and Sammy. Then the brothers plus contracted Dave plus the kid can go do their thing.

Probably best for Mike. Certainly a step down for 'Van Halen 4.' Or Van Halen 5. Hopefully they'll sequel right on up to Van Halen 9: The Final Fumble.

It's supposed to be the other way around for rockstar glory, Eddie. It's not better to fade away than to burn out.

I'm thinking there's a slight chance Mike may get that closure....maybe. Same with Sam. But they'll both NEVER be affiliated with VH after that. Ed will finally get his wish.

That would be a tasteful and classy move on the part of Ed, which is unfortunately why I'm not optimistic about it happening. He'd win a few points back, though, if it were to happen.

It's impossible to say what the furuture may hold. I'd like to think that Ed will gain some perspective once he's put in the position of being in the same place for the same reason as Mike for the induction ceremony. But I've always given the new guy a chance. I did it for Sammy and Gary and I will do it for Wolfie also.

However what if Wolife (who will be 16 by the time the tour starts) can't handle the pressure? Ed may then be forced to call the only human being that could catch up with the tour and jump right in without missing a beat.

We will all see in the very near future. One way or the other I eally looking forward to this show when it comes to NY.

I think a mass of people at the RR HOF ceremony would be a good start ! Pass out some "We want Mike" shirts with a vintage 1981 INVASION photo on it - something.

He is the only one who has given this fan base love over the years, so we need to give some back !!

At this point, how could Ed replace his son? It's been announced, there's no turning back now. Ed's not going to pull the rug out from under his own son.

The only chance it could happen would be if Wolfie convinced his dad that he didn't want to do it. Even then, it's obviously no certainty that Mike would be the next phone call.

You want to petition this band? How about not buying a ticket to their lame-ass show? That will send shockwaves. Wouldn't it be funny if they had to actually cancel dates like they did with Cherone?

I predict he shows up a couple times.

The show must go on. If Wolfey has the flu, they could call Mikey. Not sure if Ed would want Wolfey to get the usual medicine Rock Stars get when they must play and they are really sick.

I wouldn't bet on it. But I think it is possible.

Think about it.

Ed's real drunk. Wolfey is sick. Ed calls Mike and invites him up to play for the show the next day. Mike shows up the next day, Ed barely remembers calling him, but they do it anyway.

Mike is not going to just show up at the drop of a hat, guys. Especially not to backfill Wolfie as the fucking #2 bassist when Wolfie is sick or sucks at bass or somesuch.

Think, McFly! Mike had better have at least that much self-respect.

Now if Wolfie QUITS before this thing ever gets started, and Eddie makes a public apology or some such, I can see Mike being open to that.
