How to start and end a Presidential Campaign in one day

Delaware Senator Joe Biden announced he was running for the Democratic nomination for President. But, I'm thinking this bid will be short-lived:

"Mr. Biden is equally skeptical—albeit in a slightly more backhanded way—about Mr. Obama. 'I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,' he said. 'I mean, that’s a storybook, man.'"

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Even if you think it, you don't say it. And the part
about "storybook" can be taken two ways, either Obama's life has been something from a storybook or articulate, bright, clean, African-Americans are usually found in storybooks. Not being a Democrat, I wouldn't vote for him anyway but it will be interesting to see how he tries to backtrack. You always have to wonder when people say something utterly stupid like that, whether the words, "Aww Shit" pop in their heads the moment they finish the sentence.

So I guess he can forget the endorsement from either Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. Both ran for president. So are they not, clean, smart, or good looking, Joe?

Didn't he recently go off about all of the Indians (the country) moving into his state, or was that someone else? Something about needing an Indian accent whenever you go to the store; along those lines......might've been someone else.

Many politicians screw up when they say what they really think.

1) You are deluded and think you can win.
2) You know you can't win this time but want to set yourself up for a later run.
3) You know you can't win but hope you garner enough support (or, if you are from a crucial state like NY, Ohio, California, or Texas) that having you on the ticket as Veep will get you in line for a later run.

Now, keep in mind however, that at this point in 1991, nobody had either heard of Bill Clinton or thought a Democrat would be able to beat Bush (41). The difference here is that Biden has a track record of stupidity that precludes a Clintonesque run.

I plan on going to Obama's announcement on the 10th. It's good for my city to have some publicity every now and then. I doubt he will win the nomination, but it's good for Springfield's economy.

Biden will not recover from this misstep, not that he had a chance in hell anyway.

Sounds more like a compliment to me when you hear it. I have noticed myself that Obama has no trace of 'ebonics' in his speech patterns. Articulate, yes. My mother sent me Obama's book and I'll never read it. Even if he's bright and articulate, its officially kindling for my fireplace because he's a socialist wealth-redistribution salesman.
